Your Impact

The Senior Manager of Category Marketing and Promo Planning will work with Senior Merchandising Leadership to conceive, curate and present innovative category strategies designed to grow profitable share and improve Lowe's overall value perception. This position will lead the team responsible for the development of differentiating messaging and promo strategies for prioritized DIY and Pro customer segments by leveraging consumer insights and a deep understanding of the competitive landscape. The Sr. Manager of Category and Promo Planning will serve as a COE for a division, responsible fir integrating category expertise across all pillars of the brand strategy and serve as a single point of contact for key leaders within the marketing, merchandising and operations organizations. This position will partner with merchandising, large vendor partners and LORMIN to harmonize GTM plans. The Sr, Manager will run a mid-sized team and will be responsible for providing leadership, mentorship, and guidance to help them achieve their best. To be successful, this role will build, sustain and influence senior leaders within the Merchandising organization and will communicate regular status updates to senior leadership.

What you will do

  • Manages the team responsible for developing highly effective marketing strategies, tactics and action plans that meet critical KPIs.
  • Analyze/interpret data including merchandising P&L data to draw clear, actionable conclusions to build synthesized annual and quarterly objectives, strategies and tactical plans to grow sales in-store and online; developing programs that create growth supported by fact-based business cases in partnership with Merchandising.
  • Works with Sr. Director and other key marketing leaders to establish the annual marketing calendar that will drive category sales and build the brand - manages the development of the category library and serves as the integrator across marketing and broader organization.
  • Build promotional strategies with pricing partners and merchants, based on strong understanding of customer value, economics and competitive actions and execute across channels.
  • Leads efforts with cross-functional teams to prioritize product launches, product growth opportunities.
  • Serves as escalation point to senior merchandising partners for visual merchandising support plans.
  • Presents the impact of category and promotional plans against goals and objectives both quarterly and annually to senior leadership.
  • Manages planning conversations with large external vendors and LORMIN and will be the subject matter expert in their vertical.
  • This position manages/supervises people

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree Marketing or relevant field
  • 7-8 Years marketing experience
  • 5-7 Years category marketing leadership experience for consumer brands or retailer
  • 5-7 Years leading brand marketing or integrated teams
  • 3-5 Years running a P&L and/or working alongside P&L owners
  • 3-5 Years developing messaging and promotional strategies and working cross functionally

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 Years leading brand or category work at a retailer or CPG company
