The Sr. Field Merchant is a key leader responsible for overseeing and guiding the Field Merchants in their critical role of providing on-the-ground support and strategic insights to the merchandising organization, ensuring the validation and quality of their work to drive optimal performance and results. This role focuses on ensuring that localized and competitive intelligence is effectively gathered and utilized to maximize market sales opportunities, addressing community needs and maintaining Lowe's competitive advantage. This role will establish a direct partnership with Regional Vice Presidents and Merchandising Vice Presidents to ensure that field merchandising efforts align with local store needs and organizational objectives. The Senior Field Merchant will be responsible for anticipating the needs of various stakeholders, requiring careful planning and prioritization of work to fulfill commitments that align with organizational goals. The Senior Field Merchant will assess and develop their team of Field Merchants to effectively manage performance, address talent gaps, and support team members in achieving both personal and organizational goals. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong focus on data-driven decision making, team development and cross functional collaboration to enhance product performance and Lowe's ability to meet customer's needs.

What You Will Do
Convey Business Insight
- Lead the collection and analysis of data on local market conditions, sales performance, and competitive intelligence from multiple Field Merchants, ensuring data integrity and actionable insights drive decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy and consistency of data collected from Field Merchants; identifying key trends, insights, and opportunities; and facilitate effective and meaningful communication and collaboration with core and store merchandising partners.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to evaluate competitive product offerings across designated locations, ensuring strategic alignment with market trends and customer needs while synthesizing data collected from multiple Field Merchants.
- Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of field merchandising strategies. Formulate and implement action plans to address underperforming categories, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Plan and Align
- Develop merchandising strategies to address unproductive product sales opportunities across the assigned region, delivering measurable results that align with business goals.
- Work closely with other Senior Field Merchants to gather and analyze data from local merchandising execution teams, developing strategic recommendations that support remerchandising efforts and localized product assortments.
- Take a leadership role on behalf of field merchandising in Product Line Reviews by integrating local product requirements gathered from Field Merchants into discussions with Core Merchandising and Assortment Planning teams, ensuring the availability of the right products in the right locations at the right time to meet customer needs.
Assess and Develop Talent
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Field Merchants, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning. Provide strategic guidance and support to empower the team in managing their responsibilities and achieving both personal and organizational goals.
- Monitor and validate the quality of work performed by Field Merchants, ensuring that their efforts drive optimal performance and align with overarching organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging innovative ideas and the sharing of best practices among Field Merchants to enhance overall operational effectiveness.
Communicate Effectively, Build Relationships and Show Courage
- Prepare and present reports and presentations to senior leadership, highlighting merchandising opportunities and actionable recommendations based on insights gathered from the Field Merchants and Regional store leadership.
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Regional Vice Presidents and Merchandising Vice Presidents, ensuring alignment of field merchandising efforts with both local store needs and corporate goals.
- Support and guide Field Merchants in addressing emergencies and urgent market needs, ensuring that community requirements are met with efficiency and effectiveness.
- Proactively identify and confront difficult issues, making tough decisions and raising concerns that require solution with key business partners by fostering an environment of open communication.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree Business or related field and 10+ Years in one or more of the following: purchasing, buying, sales, merchandising, brand management or related field
- 8-10 Years Experience in retail product merchandising
- Demonstrated experience working closely with senior leadership
- 5-7 Years Experience leading remotely dispersed team and working with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills/Education
- Master's Degree Business or related field
- 5-7 Years Experience working with home improvement product categories

Pay Range: $126,900.00 - $211,900.00 annually Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
