Your Impact
The primary purpose of this role is to act as the first point of contact for inquiries from internal and external customers regarding Finance Transactions. Customer interaction is by phone, email and paper-based channels along with internal web-based tool entitled "Remedy Incident Management". The Accounting Specialist will provide resolution by leveraging Lowe's systems, processes, and independent judgement. Responsibilities also include special projects or other related tasks. This role provides support to the broader team as needed to assist with the development of the Accounting Group.
What you will do
- Serves as a first point-of-contact through telephone, email or paper-based interaction while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external parties by professionally responding to verbal and written inquiries.
- Applies working knowledge of Finance systems and processes within applicable areas of operation to research and respond to inquiries.
- Provides escalation path for issues based on materiality, confidentiality, and complexity of incoming inquiries.
- Participates in ongoing training to increase efficiency and build accounting skillset.
- Assists management with establishing and improving upon defined Finance procedures and processing methods to efficiently and accurately meet production and performance goals.
- Assists management with monitoring and evaluating transaction workflow and volume in order to meet production and performance goals.
- Reports system issues to management when identified to ensure issues are addressed timely.

Required Qualifications:
- High School or GED and 1 year of experience in accounting, finance, or related area OR Associate's Degree
- Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting concepts (i.e., T-accounts) and financial controls
- Basic proficiency in MS office programs (Excel, Word, Access)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or related area
