Our Agency Mortgage Team is in search of an experienced and highly-motivated trader to model and trade a suite of Agency MBS securities including TBA, Specified pools, and CMOs. In addition, the associate trader will help monitor and analyze the Agency Mortgage Backed Securities (MBS) market, and recommend strategies for best execution across Fixed Income Strategies. The role sits within our portfolio management team, helping to manage the daily activity arising from flows, rebalancing, and changes to market views. The role provides an opportunity to interact across multiple investment teams and collaborate with client and corporate services in a highly flat and dynamic organization.

We’ll trust you to:

  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers to understand portfolio views, themes, objectives
  • Optimally trade mortgage derivatives (TBAs in particular) and specified pools to generate alpha while reducing transaction costs
  • Utilize a deep understanding of market technicals to ensure best execution and enhance our portfolio construction
  • Independently analyze market dynamics and individual securities
  • Clearly articulate views and trade ideas through verbal and written communications
  • Adhere to all client guidelines and preferences, interacting regularly with our PM teams and client experience professionals
  • Develop strong relationships across Investments, Client Services, and Corporate Services

You'll need to have:

  • 2-4 years of experience in a trading role, buy-side experience preferred but not required
  • In-depth knowledge of Agency MBS products and markets
  • Experience working in a fast paced, results-driven environment
  • Strong data analysis and quantitative skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate in a team-oriented culture
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; Masters and/or CFA designation is viewed positively but not required

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $120,000-$140,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.

Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
