Position: Senior Financial Analyst, Business Partner

Department: Finance

Role Overview: The Senior Financial Analyst, reporting to the Director, Finance Business Partner, serves as the Finance Business Partner for various LCPA internal clients (i.e., programmatic and operational departments), overseeing their financial analysis and planning needs (including monthly financial close, budgeting, forecasting and analysis) and acting as a liaison between non-finance stakeholders and the Finance & Accounting leadership team.

Finance Business Partner

  • Each Finance Business Partner supports various specific internal departments and is responsible for ensuring that their internal clients (i) are financially supported, (ii) understand how they fit into LCPA's overall financial structure, and (iii) are equipped to analyze how their strategic and operational decisions impact LCPA's overall financial health
  • Finance Business Partners serve as liaison and a first point-of-contact for our Finance & Accounting teams regarding questions they face from internal clients

Facilitate quarterly forecast updates and annual budgeting cycle

  • In collaboration with internal clients, lead development of annual operating budgets/forecasts, capital planning financials and financials within LCPA project proposals, ensuring alignment with LCPA's goals and objectives
  • Assuring input of all forecasts and budgets into LCPA's financial systems - ensuring accuracy, integrity and timeliness
  • Manage and report risk/opportunity profiles to internal clients and Finance & Accounting leadership team for all forecast and budgets
  • Consistent communications to internal clients and Finance & Accounting leadership team for, among other things, risk/opportunity profiles and approved budgets/forecasts back to internal clients

Financial Closings

  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual financial reports
  • Ensure accuracy, explain budget/forecast variances, develop accurate projections, and provide meaningful insights/actionable recommendations for critical business decision-making
  • Analyze spending and revenue (contributed and earned)
  • Lead monthly check-ins to review financial standings
  • Reclass any erroneously coded expenses
  • Organize monthly department accruals
  • Maintain credit card analysis and controls for internal clients

Routinely/As Needed:

  • Serve as the primary resource for all finance-related questions for assigned internal clients, regarding coding, contracting, purchasing, forecasting, budgeting and cross-department projects
  • Answer coding and financial process questions, work within Finance & Accounting leadership team on budgeting and accounting questions (connecting the right parties as necessary)
  • Onboard new employees regarding financial processes and best practices
  • Problem solve any ad-hoc projects for internal clients
  • Provide annual audit assistance for LCPA's Finance & Accounting leadership team
  • Support standardized reporting operating procedures and monthly processes in response to new financial systems (NSPB and Tessitura)
  • Create dashboards for Executive and Board-level reporting

You'll be a fit if you bring:

  • 4+ years of finance or accounting experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree with a concentration in Finance and/or Accounting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong knowledge of finance and GAAP accounting principles
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, Teams and SharePoint)
  • Prior experience with financial and project management systems (such as NetSuite, Tessitura, ADP and Monday.com) is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to foster communication and collaboration across departments
  • Excellent ability to identify issues, think critically, and develop creative solutions
  • Works independently and functions well under pressure
  • Extremely detail-oriented and motivated by identifying potential efficiencies
  • Takes initiative to add value beyond initial requests by anticipating future questions/follow up requests and proactively resolving them
