OVERVIEW

Legal interns will assist the legal department of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA) for the Summer 2025 program. Interns will work on a wide range of legal matters relating to LCPA's programming, educational, media, fundraising, information technology and operational activities. Legal issues likely to arise include contracts, copyright and trademark law, labor and employment law, media law, governance, real estate, tax, litigation, data privacy, and other matters. In addition, the interns will help coordinate the work of summer associates from outside law firms working on pro bono assignments for LCPA. At the intern's request, assignments may focus on areas that they regard as topics of interest or opportunities for growth.

Goals of LCPA's Legal Internship Program:

-To provide law students with in-house legal experience at a leading arts and cultural institution, promoting the development of the skillset required for nonprofit, in-house, and/or arts and cultural law practices and leadership.

-To expose law students to a diverse range of legal topics by assisting in the development, oversight, and implementation of original projects designed for LCPA in collaboration with outside law firms and the students' specific areas of expertise or interest.

-To provide law students the opportunity to engage in meaningful legal work and build relationships with LCPA's Legal Department, outside law firms, and internal clients.

-1L applicants preferred.

-Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Positions are open until filled.

We estimate that interns will be paid a total of $875 per week for the internship. Where available, all or a portion of the internship payment may be made directly to an intern through public interest funding from an intern's law school.
