Position: Graphic Designer

Department: Marketing

Role Overview: Lincoln Center seeks a Graphic Designer to join the organization's brand design team working on creative campaigns across its programs and initiatives. Reporting to the art director, this position is responsible for brand design projects for programs and initiatives at Lincoln Center, including but not limited to performances, fundraising and special events, education programs, and marketing campaigns. This designer will work on projects from concept to production and delivery, while maintaining and expanding Lincoln Center's visual identity. They will work with cross-departmental stakeholders to design materials ranging from wayfinding signage, advertising, pitch decks, printed programs, digital assets for web, email, social media, and more.

To be successful in this role, you should have extensive knowledge of graphic design, technology, and production techniques with experience producing dynamic and successful marketing campaigns in a fast-paced environment. You will work collaboratively with clients to understand a program's goals and positioning and translate that into compelling visual storytelling that supports the Lincoln Center mission. Excellent verbal and visual communication skills, organization skills, and exquisite attention to detail are imperative.

What you'll get to do here:

  • Create dynamic and compelling campaign materials to engage young, diverse audiences with the arts
  • Work on marketing campaigns for performances and events that range from dance, theater, music, and spoken word, and span genres across hip hop, modern dance, classical, jazz, and beyond.

Design

  • Work with the art director and project stakeholders to determine needs, propose solutions, and design materials for marketing and communications across all consumer touchpoints.
  • Collaborate with the design team in extending creative campaigns to a variety of formats (i.e., ads, website assets, email, social media, print, environmental signage, etc.)
  • Conceptualize and execute materials that support Lincoln Center's fundraising initiatives. This includes the design of invitations, supporting event materials, and custom-designed presentations
  • Ensure brand consistency throughout various marketing projects
  • Keep up to date with trends in design, art, culture, and technology

Production

  • Work closely with the art director and project manager throughout the production process; draft printing and/or other production specifications, and select appropriate production materials; inspect proofs for accuracy and adherence to appropriate production standards
  • Work and communicate across departments, incorporating all stakeholder input for projects and ensuring that final products are delivered in a timely fashion and meet quality expectations
  • Use a strong eye for aesthetics and visual detail to ensure a quality final product.

You'll be a great fit if you bring:

  • A passion for engaging new audiences with the performing arts
  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years experience preferred or equivalent years of related experience required.
  • An ability to display keen judgment and strong foundation of core design concepts, including typography, grids, hierarchy, and color theory
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation
  • An understanding and experience working with brand systems
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks, maintain schedules, and meet deadlines
  • Experience presenting design work, clearly communicating creative ideas, and accepting and incorporating feedback
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Experience collaborating on projects with fellow designers, writers, and video editors
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and experience using project management software
  • BA/BFA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
