As a Staff Software Engineer, Demand Applications at Liftoff, you will: 

  • Design, engineer & implement highly available, fault-tolerant, distributed systems to enhance real-time bidding system.

  • Work closely with Data Scientists, product and infra engineers to understand, refine, and prioritize requirements for machine learning models.

  • Take ownership and work with various product management, development, and quality assurance groups in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advocate for improvements to product quality, security, and performance that have an impact across team and others.

  • Focus on performance, testing, documentation, continuous integration.

  • Mentor and share knowledge with team members.

  • Confidently ship large features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members.

  • Use strong communication skills (written and verbal) collaborate with the team on larger projects.

  • Drive innovation on the team with a willingness to experiment and boldly confront problems of immense complexity and scope.

  • Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to 1950 Sawtelle Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90025.

  • Salary: $185,000 - $265,000 per year.

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field plus 7 years of professional experience as Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving designing software, developing software, or automating testing software. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of experience, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 5 years of professional experience as Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, or any occupation/position/job title involving designing software, developing software, or automating testing software.

     

    Must also have experience in the following: 5 years of professional experience in software programming using Golang, Java, or Python; 3 years of professional experience designing and implementing highly scalable and distributed systems; 3 years of professional experience with database design, optimization, and management to support large-scale applications; 3 years of professional experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as message queuing (MQ) technologies; 3 years of professional experience working within a highly agile and intensely iterative software development process; 2 years of professional experience in cloud computing platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP); 2 years of professional experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
