About our Engineering Productivity Team:

Our Engineering Productivity team is essential to enhancing our product delivery and engineering efficiency. We're a collaborative group that focuses on streamlining processes, fostering cross-team communication, and driving the adoption of best practices. We bridge gaps between teams, reduce operational friction, and champion automation to maximize productivity. By maintaining positive team dynamics and clear communication, we ensure that our engineers can focus on innovation and delivering high-quality products at scale. Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Team Initiatives:
    • Play pivotal role in technical initiatives to ensure close alignment between teams working on joint projects
    • Streamline cross-team collaboration and stakeholder communication to reduce frictions arising from lack of context, miscommunication and misunderstanding
  • Process Improvement:
    • Review and improve process efficiency.
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement process solutions
    • Drive automation to minimize cognitive load and harmonize team metrics
  • Driving Adoption:
    • Work with teams to drive adoption of best practices (e.g., DORA metrics)
    • Address team concerns, create adoption plans and ensure successful adoption
  • Program/Project Management:
    • Define and manage program/project timelines
    • Define risk scorecards and manage risk
    • Set and communicate milestones
    • Track and report on program/project progress
    • Identify areas for improvement within existing processes
  • JIRA:
    • Ensure teams adhere to JIRA hygiene and software capitalization standards
    • Become subject matter expert in JIRA to provide administration support, workflow optimization and automation
    • Stay up-to-date with JIRA best practices
  • Reporting:
    • Develop processes for generating financial and accounting reports
    • Support incident response and postmortem processes
    • Create and maintain dashboards to track progress and metrics
  • Maintain Positive Team Dynamics:
    • Host regular sync meetings and facilitate communication
    • Track and follow up on action items
    • Coach team members on Agile and Scrum best practices
    • Adapt to changing needs and motivate teams to achieve goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience; or Masters degree and 3+ years of experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Technical background: understand how web services work
  • Experience with JQL, SQL and data visualization
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience in program/project management
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with JIRA administration, automation and other project management tools

Bonus:

  • Previous experience in leading DORA adoption
  • Proven experience in using DORA’s Fourkey metrics to drive improvements
  • Experience in managing stakeholders and cross-team collaboration in geographically diverse team operating in multiple timezones
  • Software engineering background
  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus

Location:

This role is eligible for full-time remote work in one of our entities: CA, CO, ID, IL, FL, GA, MA, MI, MN, MO, NJ, NV, NY, OR, PA, TX, UT, and WA, and Canada.

We are a remote-first company with US hubs in Redwood City, Los Angeles, and New York City.

Travel Expectations:

We offer several opportunities for in-person team gatherings, including but not limited to project meetings, regional meetups, and company-wide events. We expect our employees to attend these gatherings at least once per quarter. These gatherings provide essential opportunities for collaboration, communication, and team building.

Compensation:

Liftoff offers all employees a full compensation package that includes equity and health/vision/dental benefits associated with your country of residence. Base compensation will vary based on the candidate's location and experience.

The following are our base salary ranges for this role:

  • SF Bay Area, NYC, Los Angeles/Orange County: $140,000 - 170,000
  • Seattle/Olympia, Austin, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Boston: $130,000 - $155,000
  • All other cities and towns in our approved states: $120,000 - $145,000

  • Toronto/Vancouver, Canada: CAD 110,000 - 140,000
  • Canada outside Toronto/Vancouver: CAD 100,000 - 125,000

Liftoff's compensation strategy includes competitive market rate along with equity and benefits and perks that will give our employees what they need to do their best work. In order to ensure teams are compensated fairly for the work performed, we map out specific levels and take into consideration the cost of labor within each location. Liftoff provides employees a total compensation package of competitive market salaries, equity, health and wellness stipends, medical benefits associated with your country of residence. The base compensation will vary based on location, experience as well as level.
