The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Liberty Mutual Insurance, USRM PL Product & Underwriting Tech is searching for an experienced Technical Program Manager to lead delivery of one or more of our most complex and highly impactful transformation programs. This is a highly visible role that will be interacting with leadership at various levels (including USRM Executive Leadership Team members) and will be responsible for driving planning and execution across multiple portfolios and domains. This posting will align to 1Auto, future assignment will rotate to prioritized critical business needs.

You will drive planning and execution for a $50+ million multi-year program, which requires coordination across end-to-end technology domains and portfolios. You will lead collaboration and work closely with leaders and subject management experts across the delivery value stream to bring together agile teams, creating clarity of mission and approach, and eliminating friction in planning and execution. You will lead regular communication with cross-functional groups of Business Owners, Product Leaders and Engineering Directors to define program objectives, track progress and manage dependencies effectively.

About the role:
  • Drive complex, multi-year and cross functional business & tech initiatives successfully in the USRM Personal Lines portfolio.
  • Drive delivery planning and execution of one or more multi-year technology investments by partnering with leaders from various cross-functional teams such as Experience, Business, Operations, Technology, Architecture
  • Understand the business strategy, technical capabilities and design approaches within product, program, or domain with depth to be credible and influential with teams you work with
  • Ensure translation of the strategy and platform/product requirements into technical requirements and solutions in collaboration with partner teams and engineering counterparts to develop an incremental technical delivery plan that maps back to business outcomes.
  • Develop multi-year roadmaps with all key tech interaction points, dependencies, to enable sustainable Tech execution.
  • Bring together cross functional Solution and Portfolio Teams to create shared consciousness of vision and mission, in partnership with product.
  • Transform ambiguity into clear and concise direction to implementation teams, and Leadership, in partnership with product organization
  • Create clear lines of communication across all relevant teams, identifying and eliminating friction that could impact planning and execution.
  • Complete dependency mapping across multiple Domains and Portfolios, to ensure Program Increment objectives and plans are harmonized across all dependent teams, and actively drive execution.
  • Define Program Tech Delivery measures (for example, agile maturity metrics), and report across the organization, including Program Financials and execution team health
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Program, providing consistent, accurate, timely information about the Program, and document and facilitate Tech Delivery logistics.
  • Keep abreast of evolving technology landscape, both internal and external, to help shape solutions to have technical longevity.
  • Operate with limited guidance and direction
  • Serve as a thought leader in Scaled Agile Delivery and Agile Maturity across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of technology concepts, strategies and methodologies typically acquired through a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in technical or business discipline.
  • More than 10 years' experience in a practice relevant domain including delivering software solutions in an agile environment in the property & casualty insurance industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives and strategies. In-depth knowledge of agile methodology, and ability to mobilize multiple agile delivery teams across multiple domains towards a single mission.
  • Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several teams.
  • Expert knowledge of technology and industry trends. Able to lead technical decisions and problem solving using technical expertise.
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills demonstrated through effective interactions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Primarily leads and executes on regular executive communications with cross functional group of Business Owners, Product Leaders, and Engineering Directors to define program objectives, track progress, and manage dependencies effectively.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to drive and influence major transformational program outcomes.
