Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

USRM Claims Technology is seeking a Technical Program Manager to support the Claims Technology Platform strategy program. The role will be responsible for effective program management & delivery across the entire Technology eco-system ensuring a cohesive strategy and program plan are defined to successfully deliver the business and technical requirements with high quality across the value chain.

USRM Claims Technology is on a journey to modernize its core claims technology stack. We are entering into an exciting multi-year endeavor to simplify both our business and technology. With Claims being one of the most critical touch points for our customers, investment in our technology will help drive our enterprise goals to make things easier, simpler and faster for our customers, agents and employees. In this role you will be on the forefront of leading the technical delivery of our multi-year investment to modernization of our core claims platform. You will partner with Sr. Technology leaders, Product Managers and business stakeholders to define the vision, strategy and roadmap. You will then be accountable for overall program delivery, risk/issue management, vendor coordination and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities:
  • Partners with cross-functional group of Business Owners Product Owners, and engineering Directors to define the program
  • Works to influence the sequencing of the large programs based on most efficient value delivery and technical implementation.
  • Act as Lead Technical Program Manager for managing program delivery.
  • Drives execution of an outcome from inception through successful delivery through the full stack of the services/domains that spans multiple teams and integrations across the enterprise
  • Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments; Manage the day-to-day activities of the program within an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Organizes and accelerates a group of related technology projects or activities across multiple teams, aligning dependent organizations. Identify and remove blockers and always find the path forward in challenging situations.
  • Creates mechanisms to effectively report out and control execution. Recognizes complexity and creates predictable delivery paths for large and/or complex efforts. Measurably improves, streamlines, and/or eliminates excess processes. Utilizes cross-organizational mechanisms to describe and drive continuous improvements.
  • Works with ambiguity and with limited guidance. Able to get the inertia out and the project in motion or able to get the entropy out and the project into a calm and predictable delivery pattern
  • Clearly articulate scope, timelines, dependencies, owners, actions, risks, and mitigations. Report progress to teams and senior leadership on a regular cadence
  • Looked to as first point of contact for your team or area and the source of truth for status, providing the correct information and associated data about the state of the project to the right audience at the right time
  • Understands the business strategy and design approaches within product, program, or domain with depth to be credible and influential with teams they work with.
  • Keeps abreast of evolving technology landscape. Can ask the right questions to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of designs (scalability, latency, security, performance, data integrity, etc.)
  • Transform raw thoughts into clear and concise communications/instructions to the teams and leadership.
  • Work across teams to optimize processes and regularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved data/mechanisms for visibility ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in technical or business discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of client facing Program / Project Management or implementation consulting experience including delivering software solutions in an agile environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies and methodologies and their application to business opportunities.
  • In-depth knowledge of business operations, objectives, and strategies. In-depth knowledge of agile methodology, and ability to mobilize multiple agile delivery teams across multiple domains towards a single mission.
  • Ability to promote a team environment consisting of several teams.
  • Expert knowledge of technology and industry trends. Able to lead technical decisions and problem solving using technical expertise.
  • Highly developed negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills demonstrated through effective interactions with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Primarily leads and executes regular executive communications with cross functional group of Business Owners, Product Leaders, and Engineering Directors to define program objectives, track progress, and manage dependencies effectively.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to drive and influence major transformational program outcomes.
