The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. The Corporate Strategy & Research ( " CS&R " ) group is an award-winning ~ 35 -person internal strategy consulting team within Liberty Mutual Insurance, a Fortune 100 company with 45 ,000 employees in 2 9 countries around the world. The group serves as trusted strategic advisers to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team and drives high-impact, team-based project work.

The Details

We're in search of intellectually curious, creative, analytical, driven individuals who have a strong desire to expand their management consulting toolkit as part of an energetic and high-impact team.

As a Senior Manager, you'll oversee a workstream within a tight-knit consulting team led by a Managing Director that will collectively advise Liberty Mutual's senior executives in making key strategic decisions. Projects are typically in the areas of strategy development, growth strategy, organizational design & operating model, innovation, or business transformation, and typically run for 2-5 months.

You will work with and learn from an experienced Managing Director with a background from a top external strategy consulting firm. Managing Directors will support your development, provide feedback and perspective, and serve as a mentor in your career development . T hrough your project work, you will develop key relationships with leaders and executives across the organization and communicate with senior leadership to influence and galvanize the organization into action.

The role is located in Boston, MA , working in a hybrid model (weekly blend of 3-4 days in-office and 1-2 days working from home).

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Deciphering strategic issues faced by the client and the role of your team in addressing those issues
  • Owning / driving a workstream , and collecting data from various internal and external sources (e.g., executive interviews and workshops, customer surveys)
  • Crafting compelling storylines that clearly articulate findings, insights, and recommendations
  • Building and owning relationships with key client stakeholders
  • Directing team and client stakeholders towards consensus and gaining buy-in
  • Communicating with senior leadership to influence and drive the organization to action
  • Supporting the development and coaching of Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants
  • Contributing to CS&R initiatives such as recruiting, talent development, culture building and engagement, or alumni engagement
Qualifications
Candidates should, at a minimum, possess the following:
  • Bachelor's degree and MBA degree required , as well as demonstrated record of success
  • 3-5 years of work experience preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills with ability to elevate thinking and apply judgment to how components fit into the broader picture
  • Ability to leverage experience and analysis to gain support and influence others
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and written and oral communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work independently and as a member of a team, and coach junior team members
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, including project work and department responsibilities
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • You must have permanent work authorization in the United States
Additional qualifications include:
  • Top-tier strategy consulting experience
  • Motivated by high impact, high visibility work
  • Insurance or financial services industry experience a plus (not required )
  • Ability to independently navigate and decipher an ambiguous environment
  • Excited about contributing to a dynamic and high-performing team culture
