The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

The Position
The Strategy & Partnerships team, part of the $15 billion Global Private Investments portfolio, is hiring a Senior Analyst to focus on the expansion of our external partner network. This individual will be part of a growing Private Credit team focused on partnering with leading alternative lenders and private credit specialists. In this role, you will be an integral member of the team with responsibilities that provide for an investment's full life cycle. The individual will source, screen, analyze, evaluate and value fund investments in the private credit space, as well as source and screen direct / co-investment opportunities. The mandate is global and spans sectors, collateral and security types. Investment professionals have access to many of the leading global and U.S. alternative asset management firms as well as industry leading strategists and speakers. You will work directly with the private credit investments team in a dynamic and cross-functional team environment.
Responsibilities:
- S upport the private credit team in the prospecting and evaluation of new investments in private credit funds and co-investments , as well as in the monitoring of existing private credit fund investments within the portfolio
- Lead all aspects of due diligence and analysis of investments - modeling fund performance, and in evaluating overall performance by examining underlying portfolio investments
- Develop and present investment committee materials
- Support deal execution, including legal documentation
- Engage with external partners and investors
- Market Research: Provide timely market intelligence to the team on the evolution of the private credit landscape as well as deal-specific observations on market pricing, investment structures and deal terms by p erforming market mapping, identifying and meeting with external managers, and e valuating new opportunities
- Fund Investing : Analyze potential fund investments and make recommendations on commitments to external managers to our investment committee . Negotiate limited partnership agreements and side letters.
- Partner Engagement : Engage with partners to monitor performance, track trends and investment themes, and source and analyze direct investments and strategic development opportunities
- Relationship Management: Managing and maintaining a CRM system to track partnership interactions, pipeline investments and managers in the market
- Asset Management: Drive quarterly reporting with an emphasis on analyzing and measuring credit and financial performance in the portfolio from multiple perspectives including asset class, product, industry
- Project Management: Manage multiple projects at a time and work with external partners and work internally with other LMI credit groups as well as our legal, asset allocation, risk, and accounting and operations teams to develop customized solutions for corporate counterparts
- Team Collaboration: Work independently in a flat/lean team structure and promote a culture of collaboration, being willing to work cross-functionally to add value across the organization
- Technology and Analytics: Pursue the development of technology, data, and analytics needed to support the role
- Bachelor's Degree from a leading institution ( Finance, Economics, or Accounting preferred )
- 2 - 5 years' related work experience (prior experience in private credit, fund investing, direct investing, investment banking, consulting, or M&A is preferred)
- Possess excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, decision making ability, and communication skills, both verbal and written
- High comfort level working in Excel , PowerPoint and Word ( Efront and CapitalIQ also preferred)
- Producer of detail-oriented, accurate and consistent work product
- Comfortable making investment recommendations to and fielding questions from an investment committee
- Desire to, and professionalism necessary to, interact with external constituencies including alternative asset managers and private credit partners
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively across a team-oriented environment
