The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
Description
As a Project Manager I within the Global Risk Solutions (GRS) North America (NA) Casualty Product Solutions team, you are responsible for leading, under minimal direction, a portfolio of projects in support of our product roadmap. You will be responsible for coordinating a diverse cross-functional stakeholder group to ensure large-scale and complex projects are managed with the appropriate discipline and delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
- Leads moderately complex to complex projects (e.g., major area within a function, multiple workstreams, technical in nature, moderate/large budget, 6-12 month timeframe, etc.)
- Drives initiatives the help build, expand, and strengthen the project management function through contributions to project management frameworks, best practices, tools, and resources.
- Defines the business case with input from stakeholders. Identifies and gains agreement on project objectives, scope, timing, and resources.
- Plans activities/tasks that will deliver the desired results and oversees day-to-day work and monitoring of progress towards goals.
- Conducts project meetings and prepares regular reports to communicate the status of projects to stakeholders within and beyond the project team.
- Directs stakeholders towards consensus points and typically gains buy-in of recommendations.
- Escalates and works to resolve issues that serve as roadblocks and/or place project objectives at risk. Identifies and provides visibility into trade-offs between options and influences recommended approach.
- In addition to project management, may also perform some of the work defined in the project roles and responsibilities.
- Performs project close-out steps to include identifying lessons learned/best practices to inform the success of future projects. Applies continuous improvement methodologies throughout the project management lifecycle.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles and concepts.
- Proven ability to manage the project management life cycle for projects of varying complexity.
- Proficient with project management tools.
- Project management certification (PMP) strongly preferred.
- Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
- Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
- Proven business operations knowledge to include understanding the function's value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.
- Competencies typically acquired through a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in addition to 6+ years of relevant experience to include project management work. Advanced degree preferred.
