Candidates based within 50 miles radius of Boston, MA, Portsmouth, NH, Indianapolis, IN, Plano, TX and Columbus, OH will be working hybrid - 2 days a week in the office.

Job Introduction:

The Global Finance Technology organization is looking to hire a Principal SAP Reporting Configuration Engineer to their Record to Report (R2R) team within the OneGL program. Under limited supervision, these individuals would be responsible to analyze, develop, and configure new use cases utilizing SAP Reporting tools. These candidates will support production users and configure / test /train to support maintenance and enhancement of the OneGL finance environment supporting the financial month-end close process.

Seen as a technical expert within the team, these candidates will analyze complex technical problems and develop, communicate, and implement solutions while mentoring junior team members.Under general direction, acts as a technical expert who consults on highly complex projects. Devises or modifies procedures to solve technical problems. Leads and directs the work of team members. May mentor junior team members.

About the job:
  • Configures single module according to defined design specs & demonstrates in depth understanding of transactions and major configuration options for a business process.
  • Identifies and coordinate the interdependencies within the module to ensure development activities are positively impacted.
  • Documents architecture development and standards.
  • Assists with development of one program in a business process (e.g., interfaces, conversion, customizations).
  • Participates in development for a single module or business process internally and offshore/near shore capabilities.
  • Identifies business process improvements that address highly complex functional and package technology gaps within a single business process.
  • Consults on highly complex technology enabled recommendations to address gaps within a single business process.
  • Consults on design elements of new business processes package application design within a single business process.
  • Consults on design for functional and technical requirements (e.g., gap analysis, infrastructure, interfaces, reports, enhancements, and/or conversions).
  • Develops highly complex test scripts and assists coordinating test transactional data creation.
  • Identifies and researches the most complex testing defects.
  • Builds test scripts for at least one business process to be used as final deliverables.
  • Supports pieces of the implementation process such as post implementation support, cutover plans, and transition planning.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 8+ year Techno- Functional SAP Finance experience.
  • Minimum 2-3+ years of proven experience as an SAP Reporting Analyst, Developer or Consultant with successful implementations and system evolution including configuration and customization capabilities.
  • Hands on experience with SAP reporting tools (Analysis for Office, Web Intelligence, SAP Analytics Cloud).
  • Hands-on experience with building Core Data Services (CDS) views using ABAP development tools in Eclipse.
  • Strong understanding of financial transactional flow, SAP general ledger concepts such as company codes, chart of accounts, ledger, coding blocks, profit centers, cost centers, ledgers, currencies, etc.
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes and ability to map business requirements to standard SAP processes with minimal or no customization.
  • Strong communication with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders with a proven track record of collaboration across multiple organizations, business partners and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an ability to work with ambiguous and incomplete information.
  • Good understanding of agile software development concepts and processes including backlog tracking, prioritization, strong collaboration within a scrum team and adaptability through incremental delivery.
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker, have extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Training in reporting and other SAP modules.
  • Experience within the Insurance or Finance industry is preferred.
  • Experience with Financial Product Subledger (FPSL), FI/CO and PaPM modules.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 Embedded analytics.
  • Experience in SAP BW, SAP BPC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP HANA SQL, OData Services, other Cloud applications.
  • Good Knowledge on data modelling and ETL.
