Description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team in the role of Principal Data Strategy Analyst. In this position, you will play a crucial role in responding to internal stakeholder requests and facilitating the connection of existing third-party data sources, as well as identifying and engaging with new third-party data vendors. Your expertise in procurement, vendor management, and third-party data will be highly valuable in supporting stakeholder objectives across Global Risk Solutions (GRS)

As the Principal Data Strategy Analyst, you will interface directly with vendors to establish, negotiate, and renew contracts, ensuring that our partnerships align with our client and business objectives. Your expertise in managing vendors will be key in driving stakeholder satisfaction and maximizing business value.

In addition to vendor management responsibilities, you will be critical in developing data-driven insights and recommendations. Your role will involve evaluating the value of current data sources and identifying opportunities to implement new ones, all with the aim of enhancing our data strategy and achieving our organizational goals.

Reporting to the leader of the GRS Data Strategy & Alignment organization within the GRS Data Office, you will be a key member of our team. We are looking for an individual with exceptional communication, negotiation, and analytical skills. Responsibilities:
  • Provides key third-party data insights into the data strategy and roadmap
  • The roadmap details what needs to be accomplished, from a data capability perspective, in order to deliver an exceptional customer experience and become a data leader in the industry.
  • Owns a portion of the roadmap, of low-to-moderate complexity, and establish the strategy in greater detail.
  • Assignment may be based on business function, data capability, or imperative, depending on the needs at the time.
  • Joins discussions at the right level to gain support and work with stakeholders to collect enough information tie together data needs into common themes.
  • As data needs evolve, entrusted to maintain and update the roadmap accordingly.
  • Conducts direct research on emerging data and technology trends.
  • Monitors best-in-class companies for data innovations.
  • Socializes learnings with business partners and data teams to help guide discussion on new data use cases.
  • Uses learnings to evolve the data strategy roadmap within assigned sections.
  • Helps teams identify data use cases that align with the data strategy roadmap.
  • Works with business partners to their understand business problems and how data can help solve them.
  • Partners with technology and data teams to surface those problems--as well as to discuss and ideate on possible approaches to solve them.
  • Once it becomes clear that a data use case has emerged from these discussions, the business will own its use case and the business will partner closely with the Data Product Management team to address it.
  • Stays in close communication with Data Product Management to ensure that any proposed or underway solutions continue to stay connected and aligned with the data strategy roadmap.
  • Given the level, the use cases that this role will monitor will often be low-to-moderate complexity.
  • Helps prioritize data use cases in order to build data capabilities for the organization.
  • Collaborates with or participate within the Agile project team that is accountable for sequencing the data use cases amongst the IT and data teams that will address each case.
  • May be asked to identify commonalities and opportunities across the data use cases that can tie them together and affect the sequencing of work.
  • Influences the prioritization of data use cases in order to achieve an efficient build-out of the data capabilities within the data strategy roadmap.
  • Has an Agile mindset to collaborate and drive results.
  • As needed, able to partner with or participate within Agile (project) teams, which are working to deliver data solutions.
  • Be a compelling storyteller to gain support on the strategy.
  • Understands how to create and deliver effective presentations to a senior audience.
  • Adeptly socializes ideas and rapidly iterate on feedback to ensure the maximum buy-in and impact of the strategic message.
Qualifications
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Experience in communicating recommendations to senior business leaders preferred
  • BA/BS, or relevant work experience, in Computer Science or related field preferred
  • MBA or advanced degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or other quantitative discipline strongly preferred
  • 5-7+ years of experience working in coding methodologies and design principles, particularly in open source tools and technology
