Lead Financial Analyst (Cross Border Enablement Team)

Description
GRS Global Controller Center Team is seeking a Financial Analyst to help lead Liberty's GRS Cross Border Enablement for Latin America. Liberty Mutual's strategy to leverage its global footprint to share capabilities and best practices across markets has created a need to formalize our governance process for Cross Border services. In this role, the candidate will be primarily responsible for the financial oversight and governance of Cross Border services for Latin America ensuring tax and regulatory requirements are met. A successful candidate will need to take ownership of key projects and deliverables, as well as manage ambiguity. The ability to be flexible and comfortable with change will also be critical to your success.

If the selected candidate lives within 50 miles of a GRS office, the expectation is that the selected candidate come into the office two times/week. This policy is subject to change.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs regular reviews of operations identifying areas of risk where cross border services may be occurring and are out of compliance. Recommend and influence the creation of remediation efforts.
  • Works with accounting teams to operationalize (legal entity invoicing/chargebacks) transfer pricing strategies elected ensuring process is appropriately stood up and documentation of taxable base is maintained and audit ready.
  • Proactively engages in planning for new Cross Border services & global transactions with senior leadership.
  • Works with relevant CFOs, Finance Leadership, and GRS planning teams to establish appropriate management allocations.
  • Monitors environment for future tax legislation and risk impacting GRS's sharing of capabilities globally.
  • Ensures compliance with operational transfer pricing guidelines established by GRS MOPs and or Corporate Tax
  • Periodic reviews of the Tax Guidelines/ Governance Model with Corporate Tax and Big 4 partners to ensure that it is updated for changes to tax law or practice.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor`s degree (Finance or Accounting) required. CPA or advanced degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of finance experience.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results.
  • Communicates well with own team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail.
  • Solid understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working for a Big 4 Accounting Firm, or in the Insurance or Financial Services industries.
  • Experience preparing transfer pricing reports including performing analysis using all specific transfer pricing methods.
  • Bilingual both English and Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with HFM, SAP, MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint, MS-Visio and reporting tools.
