The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Job Summary: The Global Digital Services (GDS) Cloud Delivery & Engineering team is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager - Public Cloud to lead our AWS and Azure/GCP teams. This role is pivotal in driving operational excellence, engineering quality, and security throughout our cloud platform initiatives. We seek a candidate who not only possesses a strong technical foundation but also excels in coaching and mentoring engineers to foster professional growth and innovation.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of cloud platform engineers, cultivating a collaborative environment that emphasizes innovation and continuous professional development.
  • Promote a culture of security awareness organization-wide by implementing training and awareness initiatives.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and emerging security threats, proactively assessing and enhancing security processes and technologies.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to align cloud initiatives with broader business objectives, ensuring the timely and secure delivery of products.
  • Identify and mitigate roadblocks; effectively manage interdependencies across teams and projects.
  • Build and nurture strategic partnerships with clients, technology managers, vendors, and executives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee the quality of deliverables from team members, addressing performance issues promptly and constructively.
  • Conduct performance reviews, facilitating professional development opportunities including rotations and special projects.
  • Provide mentoring experiences and targeted technical coaching to support team members' growth.
  • Engage in the recruitment process to attract and hire top talent.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure consistent talent management, onboarding, and transitions.
  • Contribute to the development of business and technology visions, strategies, success factors, and operational plans for applications or platforms.
  • May establish and manage the financial plan for applications or overall units.
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies to advance application and platform capabilities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's Degree in a technical or business discipline, complemented by a minimum of five years of relevant experience in delivering software solutions within an agile framework.
  • At least 3 years in a technical leadership or managerial role, showcasing a proven ability to manage and cultivate high-performing teams.
  • Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SaaS-based developer tools (e.g., GitHub).
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and build consensus among diverse groups. In-depth understanding of technology standards, guidelines, and management practices, alongside comprehensive knowledge of business operations and strategies.
