The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Under minimal direction and often independently identifies complex trends and issues in assigned states and country wide, collaborates to set state-level and small commercial product line strategies, and leads implementation of changes to address issues. Implements complex adaptations of country wide initiatives and conducts other analyses to support strategic direction of assigned states. Leads cross functional teams through the development and/or implementation of a new product or other CW initiatives. Leads in the creation of and serves as subject matter experts for the implementation process of new small commcercial products or CW initiatives. Identifies product line opportunities for improvement, makes actionable, recommendations and executes on those recommendations. Provides franchise underwriting guideline recommendations. May be involved in product line/distribution channel production and profit planning. Presents state reviews, other analyses and results of country wide initiatives to Directors of State Operations, Product SVPs, and Chief Product Officer.

Responsibilities
  • Leads extremely complex analysis.
  • Serves as the Product SME for the state teams and other departments for overall product related guidance and completes state reviews and similar work for complex states or countrywide programs independently.
  • Directs product analysts in the building of new tools (spreadsheets, modeling tools, databases, reporting and other templates).
  • Manages moderate to high complexity multi-function projects, often including managing the work stream of others. Occasionally sponsors projects.
  • Using information gathered from analysis and research, provides franchise tactical and strategic recommendations on a countrywide basis for assigned states, lines of business or distribution channels.
  • Assist in designing changes to franchise models for unique states.
  • Provide recommendations to state teams on high level actions. Recommendations are made on process improvements, new products, profit, and growth improvement actions for assigned lines of business.
  • Regularly presents research, recommendations and initiatives to State management and other cross functional departments.
  • Occasionally presents research, recommendations and initiatives to Chief Product Officer and other Sr. Leadership. Monitors, analyzes and reports on competitor activity.
  • Directs Product Analysts on competitive research activities.
  • Directs Product Analysts in the review of industry publications and news articles. Provides summaries of industry and competitive information to State Management, Product leadership, Chief Product Officer and other Sr. leadership.
  • Utilizes research to determine tactical and occasionally strategic direction for assigned lines of business or distribution channels.
  • Occasionally seeks out opportunities to guide or teach the broader team. Proactively seeks out mentorship opportunities with less experienced analysts. Actively mentors analysts through complex analysis, drawing of conclusions and development of recommendations. Conducts behavioral and case interviews.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
  • Minimum 7, typically 10 years or more of relevant work experience
  • Master's degree and/or ACAS or similar designation beneficial
  • Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g. SAS and/or SQL, etc.)
  • Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects preferred
