Enterprise Finance is on the lookout for an exceptional Chief Data Officer, Finance who will lead our Finance organization in fostering a data-driven culture and ensuring the effective use of data in decision-making. This influential role will help shape the future of our business by serving as a vital member of Liberty's Enterprise Data & Data Science federated operating model, working closely with technology, finance, and business leaders.

As the Chief Data Officer, Finance, you will bring extensive knowledge and expertise in data strategy, stewardship, management, reporting, and governance. What You'll Do:
  • Collaborate Strategically: Partner with Technology and Finance leaders to develop and execute a comprehensive multi-year data and information strategy that aligns with organizational goals and meets regulatory requirements.
  • Establish Governance Frameworks: Oversee the creation of data stewardship and governance frameworks that prioritize data privacy, security, and compliance, while also ensuring accessibility and usability.
  • Define Data Requirements: Clearly articulate Finance data requirements across Liberty's teams, ensuring alignment and understanding among all upstream and downstream stakeholders.
  • Integrate Finance Data Strategies: Lead strategic discussions with key leaders to align Finance data strategies with broader business initiatives and technology investments.
  • Implement Governance Policies: Develop and enforce data governance policies that enhance data privacy and security, proactively responding to incidents while ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Represent Finance Function: Act as the Finance function's representative within Liberty's Enterprise Data & Data Science federated operating model, fostering collaboration and sharing of best practices across the organization.
  • Cultivate a Data-Centric Culture: Drive a data-centric culture within the Finance team, enhancing the organization's capability to interpret and communicate data insights while keeping up with emerging data technologies and trends.
  • Promote Data-Driven Decision Making: Advocate for the critical importance of data and insights in shaping current strategies and future directions, embedding a forward-thinking approach to data utilization in all decision-making processes.

Qualifications
  • Extensive Experience: Minimum of 15 years in a leadership role, including at least 10 years in strategic data management positions with a proven track record of driving business outcomes through effective data identification and operationalization.
  • Leadership Expertise: Significant experience in enterprise or cross-functional leadership roles that demonstrate strong leadership capabilities.
  • Business Case Development: Proven ability to build, articulate, and deliver compelling business cases focused on data utilization and data-centric business strategies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Deep expertise in information architecture and relevant technologies that support effective data management.
  • Cross-Functional Integration: Demonstrated success in integrating data strategies and programs across various organizational functions.
  • Influencing Skills: Strong capability to influence stakeholders at all levels within the organization effectively.
  • Analytical & Strategic Skills: Must possess robust analytical, strategic, project management, change management, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Team Leadership: Exceptional leadership skills with experience in developing high-performing, inclusive, and engaged teams, emphasizing leadership development, accountability, and execution.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate collaboration and relationship-building.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
