Description and Requirements

Lenovo Workstations provide powerful solutions to drive productivity, innovation, and design excellence in key vertical segments such as Manufacturing Design, Engineering & CAD, Animation/Media/Web Creation, Science/Medical, Oil & Gas, and Finance.

To maintain our leadership and compete in this aggressive marketplace, we are seeking to enhance our team with a Workstation Lab Project Leader to join our development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development, testing, and validation of key components within Lenovo's high-performance workstations. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership and Technical Oversight:
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and project managers, to ensure project milestones are met.
    • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to the development team.
  • Lab Management:
    • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the technical labs.
    • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and ensure a safe working environment.
    • Develop and implement testing protocols and procedures.
    • Mange key parts
    • Able to lift and move packages up to 40 lbs
  • Testing and Validation:
    • Conduct performance benchmarking, stress testing, and troubleshooting.
    • Analyze test results and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in workstation technology.
    • Identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement within the lab.

Basic Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or higher in Engineering or Computer related field
  • 5+ years experience working in an R&D lab environment
  • Project management experience, with a track record of leading successful technical projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of PC hardware and components.
  • Proficiency in hardware testing and debugging tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive professional attitude with flexibility
  • SMD component rework, precision soldering
  • Working knowledge of export control classification (ECCN)
  • Working knowledge of JIRA

This position will be based in our North America Headquarters in Raleigh, NC. Our office has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote. To be considered, candidates need to be local to Raleigh or willing to relocate on their own.
