Lenovo Professional Services Latin America is looking for a Senior Virtualization Engineer to perform customer facing on VMWare and other Virtualization Technologies based consulting and implementation.

Job Description

You would join a growing professional services delivery organization and make an immediate end to end impact with your stakeholders. This would include interacting with our sales team and solution architects to support sizing, scoping, and presenting services opportunities to potential clients. You would lead onsite and remote client engagements to implement, upgrade, and migrate to Lenovo Server and Storage solutions for clients, particularly Virtualization product lines. You can also apply your experience and lessons learn to shape delivery process improvements and interaction with support, sales, and product engineering.

Required qualifications.

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or 10 or more years of equivalent experience.
  • Ability to analyze customer needs, document requirements, and design technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication, demonstration, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Possess professional certifications in virtualization or cloud technologies (VMware, Microsoft, Citrix, Nutanix, Azure, AWS, etc.)
  • 7+ years hands-on / client facing experience with VMWare Solutions such as VCF, NSX, Horizon, SDDC, vROPs, etc...
  • Integrate cloud services with on-premises technologies from Microsoft Azure, OpenShift, Nutanix, and develop architecture solutions for complex systems.
  • Design, plan, migrate, and implement Lenovo servers, Switches, and Storage technologies in support of underlying virtualization infrastructure.

Desirable qualifications

  • Experience with data migrations and data migration tools
  • Scripting and/or coding skills like Java, Python, Bash, PowerShell
  • Implementation and maintenance task automation
  • Strong practical Linux and Windows-based system administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environments
  • Advanced understanding of Ethernet and Fiber Channel Switches deployment/configuration processes.
  • Project management skills to lead infrastructure projects and ensure successful implementation.
  • Any other relevant certifications (e.g., TOGAF, CISSP, CCNA, etc.) are highly desirable.

Job Responsibilities

  • Approximately two-thirds of your time working with clients remotely or onsite time on billable client engagements and communicating status to stakeholders.
    • Travel within Mexico and Latin America is required for approx. 75% time (about 3 weeks per month)
  • Approximately one-third time receiving or contributing to:
    • Education and certifications
    • Pre-sales assistance and tech-sales workshops
    • Team mentorship
    • Lab work, practice, and demonstration of new technologies
    • Documentation for improving services delivery.
    • Offering development
