About Our Team

We are hiring a System Engineer with Storage & debug capabilities to work in Lenovo's Cloud Service Provide Group (CSP). This is a fast-paced customer-centric organization that will adapt to changing market demands to serve customer needs. We're the only company with true end-to-end capabilities for even the most unique datacenter computing solution. Our CSP solutions can be designed, manufactured, tested, serviced, and deployed worldwide using only Lenovo teams and without any other JDM support required at any stage of the product lifecycle.

Location: This position is based in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in the testing and validation of storage subsystems, including SSD, NVMe, SATA, and SAS devices.
  • Develop test plans and strategies to evaluate the performance, reliability, and scalability of storage systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues.
  • Engage with vendors to evaluate and integrate third-party storage solutions.
  • Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to ensure product quality.
  • Contribute to the development of automation tools for storage system testing.
  • Document best practices and lessons learned to improve product quality and test efficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 6+ years of experience in storage engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in storage protocols like iSCSI, Fibre Channel, NVMe, and RAID configurations.
  • Solid understanding of storage system configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with enterprise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, and related technologies.
  • Proficient in Linux and Windows operating systems, with the ability to work in command-line environments.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Experience with automation and scripting for testing (Bash, Python, Shell, or PowerShell preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering is a plus.

• Hyperscale/Cloud experience

• Can use oscilloscopes, protocol analyzers, host bus adapters, meters, and other test equipment to debug HW/SW/FW issues

  • Familiarity with cloud storage solutions and hybrid storage architectures.
  • Experience with software-defined storage (SDS) technologies like Ceph, GlusterFS, or similar.
  • Certifications in storage technologies such as SNIA, NetApp, or equivalent.
  • Experience working with distributed storage systems and troubleshooting complex storage environments.
  • Knowledge of data protection technologies, including snapshots, replication, and backups.
  • Familiarity with containerized storage environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Experience with network performance tuning, particularly as it relates to storage infrastructure.

• Experience in direct customer engagements and the ability to interface with Lenovo and customer executives

• Ability to understand customer requirements; interpret these requirements and convert them into a competitive CSP platform portfolio

• Proficiency with Linux server operating systems

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally

• Ability to work effectively cross-culturally across teams in the USA, Asia and Mexico
