Description and Requirements
The Software Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of software offerings, creating the go-to-market plan including product assortment, price, placement and promotional strategy, and will be ultimately accountable for driving software sales growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ecommerce best practices, consumer behavior, and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Software Product Marketing (Go-to-Market) Strategy
- 4P Strategy (Product Offer Assortment, Price, Placement, Promotion) for web, direct seller and retail routes to market.
- Pricing Strategy:
- Develop and implement pricing strategies for software products to maximize profitability and market share.
- Monitor competitor product assortment and pricing trends to adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
- Conduct regular pricing analysis and provide recommendations for adjustments.
- Promotions and Offers:
- Define Marketing priorities/offers/promotions for incorporation into Marketing Demand Gen.
- Analyze the effectiveness of promotions and adjust strategies to optimize performance.
- Product Assortment:
- Optimize the product assortment to meet customer demand and maximize sales.
- Work with the product development team to identify new product opportunities and ensure timely product launches.
- Conduct regular assortment reviews to ensure a competitive and appealing product range.
- Business Performance / KPI's / Reporting
- Monitor sales performance and key metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Model Revenue Projections, Set Targets, and report on key performance drivers.
- Partner & Category Management:
- Manage software partner onboarding, business reviews, opportunity development.
- Manage MDF funded Marketing programs, quarter close and POE with Vendors
- Create effective sales enablement strategies in collaboration with 3rd Party Software Partners (SPIFF, Sales Aids, Training)
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product development, and customer service.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align on strategies and objectives.
- Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to strategic planning sessions.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in technology marketing, ecommerce, merchandising, pricing, partner development or a related role.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions.
- Proficiency in ecommerce platforms, analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA degree
- Knowledge of the security software space is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of the software industry is a plus.
