Description and Requirements

Lenovo's Enterprise Business is hiring a Server Test Engineer for the system integration validation on x86 server architecture. The primary responsibility is the delivery of a quality product launch. This position works closely with system Hardware/Firmware/Software/ I/O development and 3rd party suppliers to ensure product deliverable meeting Lenovo quality requirement. The major responsibility includes test strategy creation, test plan development, test case maintenance, test progress and defect management, and support test execution.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in project activities from resource sizing, planning, test plan development, test execution, defect resolution, and results documentation.

• Collaborate with team members, vendors, and other development function teams for controlling test progress and defect management.

• Understand and contribute to documenting Product Assurance procedures associated with assigned projects including but not limited to system configuration, system operational procedures, data conversion, test execution, and hardware environment requirements.

• Initiate lesson learns and innovation activities for continuously improvement on product quality and test efficiency.

Required Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

• Bachelor Degree; CS,EE, or related technical degree

• 5+ years of server hardware test experience including 1+ years in test lead role.

• Experience with the following I/O protocols test: Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet, iSCSI, Infini, SAS/SATA and RAID levels.

• Experience with Planer and Approved Vender List test, such as Processor/ Memory/GPU/PCIe/USB & Legacy Port and planer functional test.

• Solid understating on server systems common knowledge, including UEFI/BMC basic function, system setup, configuration, debug, of associated server/switch infrastructure.

• Knowledge of operating systems command line interfaces and the ability to complete work tasks without relying on the GUI.

• Ability to troubleshooting hardware issues in various operating systems including Red Hat Linux, Novell SLES, Windows, and VMWare.

• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.

• Applicants needs to demonstrate strong skills in oral and written communication, dedication to working with international team, and understanding of the use of technology.

• Applicants needs to demonstrate experience on projects with a high degree of complexity.

• Ability to write shell script or automated testing methodology is preferred.

• Fluent in English
