Description and Requirements
Lenovo's Commercial organization is currently hiring a Senior Manager of Project Management to lead Lenovo's WW OEM Project Management Office (PMO). The OEM business model is focused on selling Lenovo products and services to OEM customers who will incorporate them into their solutions to create unique products, sold to their end customers. In this model Lenovo is part of the OEM customer's development and supply chain. The OEM customer is dependent on Lenovo to keep their solution's product development on track and their manufacturing up and running. This unique relationship Lenovo has with their OEM customers drives the need for strong project management support for these accounts.
The Senior Manager of Project Management is responsible for management and leadership of the WW OEM PMO. The successful candidate will directly manage a global team of project managers. The Senior Manager of Project Management will identify and maximize opportunities to enhance efficiency, improve customer experience, and minimize days-to-revenue. The candidate will continue to build a strong "can-do" culture by motivating the team, driving accountability and consistency, and fostering a mentality of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement PMO strategic initiatives to solve customer and business pain points
- Improve project manager effectiveness and efficiency by developing and implementing standardized project management tools, training, and systems.
- Own and manage all project, business improvement, and account management assignments and PM workload
- Identify issues and collaborate with functional management to improve customer experiences and project cycle efficiencies.
- Develop project reports to promote project transparency and facilitate leadership awareness and support
- Attract, develop, and retain a world-class team of Project Managers
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, business management, computer science or related field
- 12+ years of program/project management experience
- 3+ years of direct management experience
- High level knowledge of product development, procurement, supply chain and manufacturing disciplines
- Workstation & Desktop product functional knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP certification
- Knowledge of Lenovo product development and sales enablement processes beneficial
- Strong process orientation - LSS Yellow Belt or Green Belt a plus
- Ability to work cross functionally across multiple organizations
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous business environments
- Excellent customer and leadership facing communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work across multiple geographies and time zones to drive project execution
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively work with, manage, and influence WW business efforts
Candidates already based in the Raleigh, NC area are preferred. Our North America Headquarters office (in Raleigh, NC), has transitioned to a hybrid work environment supporting 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.
