Description and Requirements

Job Summary: The Senior Accounting Manager will oversee the accounting operations and governance for Latin America and North America. This role ensures compliance with local financial statutory audits and statutory reporting, partners with finance teams on closing processes, provides accounting treatment advisory, and ensures accurate financial reporting results. The position will manage a team of 10+ employees across Latin American countries and will be responsible for accounting operations, both internal and external reporting, for 8 countries in Latin America and North America.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Operations & Governance:

  • Oversee and manage the accounting operations for Latin America and North America.
  • Ensure adherence to Group accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Implement and maintain robust accounting governance frameworks.

Statutory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local financial statutory audits and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate audits.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements and reports.

Financial Reporting:

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
  • Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to Finance leaders

Business Partnering:

  • Collaborate with finance and business teams to support closing processes and strategic decision making
  • Advise on complex accounting treatments and transactions.
  • Work with Group Accounting to drive the implementation of initiatives to local operations.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 10+ accounting professionals across Latin America.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the team and across departments.
  • Manage team members both locally and remotely, ensuring alignment and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and local statutory requirements in Latin America and North America.
  • Proven experience in managing statutory audits and financial reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in people management, both locally and remotely.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multinational, multicultural, and BPO environments.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Proactive and willing to work under pressure, ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
