Description and Requirements

• About Organization

Lenovo Japan Yokohama branch has mission to develop Lenovo ThinkPad products, and the organization, where the applicant is assigned to, has responsibility of system firmware and software development for ThinkPad products by collaborating with other teams inside and outside of the company.

- Report to first line manager of system firmware development organization in Lenovo Yokohama office

- Subordinates: None

- Number of Peers: 10

• Roles and Responsibilities

1. Design, develop, and evaluate security solutions for laptop PC firmware and software.

2. Define comprehensive strategies, roadmaps, and policies for security solutions for firmware and software including technical assessment and utilization of new technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI)

3. Lead security-related projects through collaborations with external development partners and internal development and security teams in United States(US) and China

4. Analyze and fix vulnerabilities and manage security incidents.

5. Communicates with Lenovo ThinkPad development teams in other countries and external ODM companies to support their development activities.

6. Communicates with the Product Assurance / Product Engineering teams, tracks problem status,

• Key Interaction with:

• Lenovo ThinkPad development teams in Lenovo Yokohama office.

• Lenovo development teams in China and US.

• Lenovo ThinkPad development teams of Lenovo-Compal-Future-Center (LCFC) Company in other countries.

• External system firmware (UEFI BIOS and/or microprocessor firmware) vendor companies in other countries.

• External ODM and ISV/IHV partner companies in China/Taiwan, and US

• Must Have - essential

- At least 5 years' experience in the development of endpoint security, firmware security, or application security.

- Experiences to read requirement documents and technical specification documents

- At least 5 years' experiences of design and development of software.

- Deep knowledge in security design, cryptography, and vulnerability assessment.

- Programming skills in C/C++ languages

- Problem debugging/analysis skills, problem solving skills.

- Fluent English communication skill for both written (e-mail etc.) and verbal for daily activities. (Ref: TOEIC score 600 or above)

- Daily Japanese conversation skill if the applicant's native language is not Japanese.

- Logical communication skill
