Description and Requirements

We are building GenAI capabilities for Lenovo cloud software division's core platform that powers various cloud solutions. As an experienced GenAI Engineer on this team, you will play a key role in developing, deploying, optimizing, and evolving GenAI solutions for the platform.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will work with the user, device and services data and micro-services to power GenAI applications.
  • The data and services you shape will be used to power AI capabilities of the core platform that enables various cloud solutions of the company.
  • Identifying and defining the solutions for business problems and roadmap items of the GenAI solutions team.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and helping grow their technical skills.
  • Staying up to date with the latest advancements in GenAI space and identifying opportunities to leverage them. Evaluating and implementing new tools and technologies to improve the team's efficiency.
  • Optimizing GenAI pipelines and models to improve quality and reduce computational time, cost.
  • Working with business partners to understand business and product objectives, identify and define the right AI problems that need to be solved, translating them into technical requirements and breaking them down into manageable tasks.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary, globally distributed team of professionals that can include Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, Project and Product Management
  • Delegating tasks effectively and providing clear expectations for team members.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with relevant experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math or related technical field.
  • 8+ years' experience in the following areas of software development:

    • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java
    • Experience with designing and developing microservices architecture.
    • Proficiency in deploying and managing applications using Kubernetes, Docker.
    • Experience working with git version control systems, CI/CD practices, testing (using libraries - pytest, Junit)
    • Experience using tools/ frameworks such as Spring (Boot/Data/ Security/AOP/MVC/Cloud), Hibernate, Flask, gunicorn, Airflow.
  • 6 months in the following areas:

    • Hands-on experience working with AWS and Azure OpenAI services.
    • Experience with large language models (LLMs) and multimodal models.
    • Experience with frameworks like Langchain, or similar.
    • Experience with observability tools like Datadog, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or similar.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and help grow their technical skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, Math or related technical field.
  • Experience in working programmatically with REST, GraphQL APIs, SQL, NoSQL data sources, Kafka and OpenID authentication.
  • Experience related to NLP, and Search applications is a plus.
  • Experience with custom LLM models, agentic frameworks and Large Action Models (LAM) is a plus.
  • Experience bringing a GenAI project through prototype, implementation and deployment to production is a plus.
