Description and Requirements

Responsibility:

The system power engineer is responsible for designing, developing, modifying, evaluating electronic components, circuits, firmware, and software for electronic equipment.

  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis specifications and reliability.
  • Applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert.
  • Frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods.
  • Works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires in depth evaluation of multiple factors.
  • Exercises significant independent judgement within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method of accomplishing tasks and achieving objectives.
  • Leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross functional initiatives.
  • May provide mentoring and guidance to peers and juniors.
  • Acts as subject matter expert in providing direction and guidance to process improvements and policy matters.
  • Frequently represents the organization to external customers/clients.
  • Designs, analyzes, develops, modifies and evaluates electrical/electronic parts, components, sub-systems, algorithms, or integrated circuitry for electrical/electronic equipment and other hardware systems.
  • Conducts feasibility studies, design margin and validation analyses and empirical testing on new and modified designs.
  • Assists in architecture development and assessment. Evaluates reliability of materials, properties, designs, and techniques used in production.
  • May directly support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
