Description and Requirements

To help sustain our core value of teamwork with integrity and trust, we are looking for a dynamic Counsel, Ethics and Compliance, who will play a key role in designing, administering, and supporting Lenovo's global ethics and compliance program. The position reports into the Senior Manager, Ethics and Compliance will be based in Shenzhen, China.

Responsibilities and duties include:

  • Supporting compliance related initiatives pertaining to Lenovo's affiliates, such as LPS, including, but not limited to, developing and implementing anti-bribery and corruption and trade compliance controls, and conducting compliance risk assessments
  • Providing prompt and sound guidance to employees and business leaders globally, acting as a subject matter expert on the company's Code of Conduct and related policies, including, but not limited to, the Global Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Conflicts of Interest, Gifts and Entertainment, Anti-Money Laundering, and Global Trade Compliance policies.
  • Creating and effectively delivering engaging compliance training, presentations, and communications both locally and throughout the organization
  • Establishing and maintaining excellent cross-functional relationships within the business and various internal partners, including members of legal, HR and internal audit
  • Maintains, enhances, and develops anti-bribery and corruption program policies, procedures, and processes
  • Evaluates program components, recognizes and contributes to continuous improvement opportunities
  • Carries out special projects as assigned to support Lenovo's Global Ethics and Compliance Program

Education Requirements

  • Legal Degree is required;
  • Master/JD in Common Law jurisdiction is preferred.

Position Requirements

  • 8 years' experience in compliance areas at a reputable law firm or well-known multi-national companies
  • At least 3 years of experience with U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and equivalent international anti-bribery and corruption laws and regulations.
  • Basic understanding of export control and sanctions laws and regulations.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong mastery of the English and Chinese (Mandarin and Cantonese) language, both written and verbal
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours to communicate with global teams
  • Team player and consensus builder who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with employees and business colleagues across the organization
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple matters simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Proven ability to achieve objectives within a complicated and matrixed organization
  • Project management experience, including the ability to manage a number and variety of mission-critical projects
