Description and Requirements

Cloud Database Administrator (AWS) - In this role, you will be responsible for monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise. The role involves backing up and restoring databases as needed, establishing and maintaining database security measures, and designing, developing, and implementing databases in AWS.

You Will:

  • Manage and maintain AWS RDS cloud databases, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
  • Design and implement automated solutions for database provisioning, monitoring, and scaling using AWS native tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex database issues and provide L2 support for operational databases.
  • Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and data governance policies within AWS environments.
  • Optimize database performance through monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and AWS Trusted Advisor.
  • Proficient in AWS automation tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS Lambda, and scripting languages (Python, Bash).
  • Experience using AWS database monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as CloudWatch and Performance Insights.
  • Strong understanding of AWS data security protocols, encryption standards, and compliance frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience in providing L2 support, resolving database issues, and maintaining performance optimization.

You Bring:

  • 7+ years of experience in database administration, with a minimum of 3 years working in AWS and AWS RDS environments.
  • 3-5 years of experience in SQL database administration.
  • Extensive knowledge of AWS database services such as Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, and related technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
  • Expertise in database backup/recovery tools, database replication, clustering, and high-availability technologies.
  • Experience in WOG/GCC and GCC+ is a bonus
  • 247 Support is required for this role

Required Certification:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate
  • AWS Certified Database - Specialty
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
