Description and Requirements
About Our Team
This position is for a CSP (Cloud Service Provider) Bill of Materials Engineer in the BOM Management Team of the Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG). This is an exciting role in the CSP Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Data Center. ISG is innovating the future-defined data center, today. From the simplest to the most complex IT environments for all types of workloads, our servers, storage, networking and solutions help maximize the potential of data centers.
What You'll Do
- Closely work with cross functional teams and customer to ensure E2E (End to End) data enablement and accuracy
- Release BOM/EC timely, and manage data readiness as a project
- Work with engineering team to deliver accurate System BOM and configured SKU BOM during new product development phase
- Maintain System BOM and SKU BOM based on change request in timely manner during sustaining phase
- Drive change request being fully evaluated, work out and implement the solution
- Create Engineering Change (EC) in related systems and follow to close
- Resolve BOM/EC issues quickly and accurately, implement preventive actions
- Summarize Lessons Learned and improve BOM/EC process
- Create or update tools to improve daily work efficiency
- Communicate with customer as BOM interface to improve BOM accuracy and process
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline
• 5+ years work experience in development or manufacturing
• Experience in MS office, especially EXCEL (formula, macros)
• Experience with managing projects, product development, and the change management process
Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of server components and rack parts
• Hyperscale/Cloud experience a plus
• Server hardware development experience
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead teams and have the autonomy to make decisions
• Good documentation and organizational skills
• Ability to quickly learn, question, and collaborate on solving problems
• Ability to work effectively cross-culturally across teams in Mexico, US and Asia
• Masters degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering is a plus
