Description and Requirements

Part of multidisciplinary teams, bringing diverse perspectives to every challenge. Focus on development and enhancement of financial reporting and accounting processes, for application to Lenovo's global businesses.

This role will focus on process engineering and enhancement in the following areas:

  • Full scope RTR accounting process (e.g. revenue, cost etc.) - the focus is to orchestrate improvements to accuracy, compliance and control environment of the processes already in place;
  • Operation and improvement on the global monthly and quarterly closing process of Lenovo, review with head quarter management on group closing matters and provide analytical support;
  • With a centralized business service center for both accounting and finance, this role will also involve in reviewing and improving, the proper application of group accounting policy for Lenovo's global operations, supporting front-end businesses while upkeeping control and compliance;
  • This role will have exposure to worldwide locations of businesses and teams, in a highly diversified and dynamic business environment;

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify, document, and implement accounting operation and reporting process improvement with an aim to drive standardization and efficiency, redesign processes through simplification and drive productivity;
  • Heavily focused on control and compliance, and global accounting policy application in process operations. Drive changes in the upstream to improve the accuracy and compliance of the booking financials, specific to internal business group and business unit level;
  • Participate and support global projects as required, e.g. implementation of S4 Hana ERP system;
  • Participate in the set up of corporate knowledge repository to drive effective and efficient knowledge sharing of finance & business policies, best practices, standards, and guidelines across the organization;
  • Issue process and reporting guidance to ensure consistent application of the standards across Geos and BG in day-to-day operations;
  • Work collaboratively with cross domain counterparts to develop detail project work plans, risk mitigation, issue tracking and communication plan;
  • Develop and deliver presentations to audiences ranging from business line stakeholders to executives;
  • Occasional travel might be required;

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or related subjects required; CPA or CMA equivalent is a plus;
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in accounting or FP&A, preferably worked in Big four firm auditing or accounting consultancy department;

Preferred Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of IFRS, PRC GAAP;
  • Proficient in power point presentation and flow charts;
  • Knowledge of SAP or other ERP system environment, Power BI;

Professional Skill Requirements

  • Strong experience in accounting and finance operations, including process control
  • Able to work independently and with proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment;
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong professional judgement;
  • Must be solutions-driven, and possess strong problem skills and business acumen to guide transformation with the needs of the business in mind;
  • Possess strong communication (written and oral), interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well with peers and senior leaders locally and on a remote basis;
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin;
  • Exceptional ability in influencing change, drive results through efficient and practical approach.
