Leidos has an immediate need for a Technical Writer - Jr. Project Manager to join our team on a highly-visible and strategic Cybersecurity Task Order. The Technical Writer - Jr. Project Manager will operate as a member of the Project Management Office (PMO).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Draft, expand, refine, and edit technical concepts or solutions into easy-to-read, comprehensive, compliant, signature-ready, and compelling documents tailored for audiences ranging from entry-level technical to executive level
  • Interact with technical team members for content development
  • Standardize documentation where appropriate, e.g. templates, plans, processes, procedures
  • Become well versed in and comply with federal government (especially CISA) and Leidos official document requirements and style guides
  • Provide project management services to plan, coordinate, manage, and report on project status for assigned projects.
  • Establish and maintain necessary controls, management oversight, documentation, reporting, customer support, and notification functions as well as ensuring that required tasks stay on track and milestones are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in a technical field in English/Journalism/Project Management with the ability to efficiently and effectively write accurate and customer-compliant technical documents, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Minimum 4-8 years' relevant experience in technical writing and/or project management

Candidates should also demonstrate the following:

  • Strong ability to quickly and effectively gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high-quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow-on work needed
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) required
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies
  • Ability to manage multiple communications projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work cross functionally among PMO and technical staff
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding, and fluid environment.

A CISA Entry on Duty (EOD) is required to support this program.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drafting IT, cybersecurity, or related technical documentation using federal government, particularly DHS, official document requirements and style guides.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies
  • CAPM or PMP certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $63,700.00 - $115,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
