The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos has an immediate opening for a Technical Writer to work on our Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) Contract. Requires an active DoD Secret clearance.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Gathers technical information from engineering staff.
  • Prepares technical documentation to include the creation of the following.
  • Technical implementation plans.
  • Analyses of alternatives.
  • Work Instructions.
  • Standard Operating Procedures.
  • End-user communications.
  • Customer briefings.
  • Status Reports.
  • Researches technical subject matter as required to communicate and express technical information in written form.
  • Reviews and edits documentation prepared by engineering staff.
  • Performs periodic reviews of chronological documentation in accordance with document lifecycle policies.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a BA degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • DoD Secret clearance.
  • Experience creating documentation that is generally associated with the operations of an enterprise Information Technology environment.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint Online (SPO) document libraries.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $78,000.00 - $141,000.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
