Leidos is seeking a Systems Technician to work within the Leidos Service Center IT support team. The successful candidate will work under our IT manager, maintaining the health of thin clients, servers, and network architecture, including Cisco and Juniper fiber switches as well as Passive Optical LAN networks. As part of the hardware support, you will be deploying, excessing, repairing, and upgrading network equipment. A customer ticketing system will be used in prioritizing actions. Expect hands-on hardware work, taking down and setting up different user spaces, and performing asset destruction processes.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Environment Management: Maintain the health of Microsoft-based servers, databases, PC workstations, HP thin clients, and network-connected printers.
  • Network Connectivity Support: Deploy and troubleshoot local LAN PON systems, including ONTs, and expand/reconfigure fiber infrastructure in zone boxes, data closets, and ceilings.
  • Hardware and Infrastructure Maintenance: Perform hardware support, asset destruction, and monitor Uninterruptible Power Systems (UPS) across multiple secure areas, including racking and stacking servers and PCs.
  • User Assistance and Tier 1 Support: Provide Tier 1 support for Cisco VOIP Phone systems, assist with STE/STN compliance, and maintain frequent contact with the 600 tenants via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Service Desk Management: Handle service desk tickets from a queue, resolve cabling issues, and provide on-call support occasionally (1-2 times per year).
  • Project Implementation and Training: Plan and implement IT enhancements, deliver projects timely and cost-effectively, and continue training on Windows domain support and Passive Optical LANs.
  • Physical Requirements: Move/lift up to 60lbs, travel to three other sites within a 6-mile radius, and use tools to repair PCs and rack equipment.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related technical field and one or more years of related IT experience.
  • Skills: Independent thinker, team player, effective communicator, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, MS Paint).
  • Willingness to Learn: Administration of Motorola/Arris Optical Line Terminal (OLT) and ONTs.
  • Physical Ability: Move/lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Security Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • Security + TIA Certification
  • Microsoft Certified Professional

Pay Range:

Pay Range $50,050.00 - $90,475.00
