Systems Engineer

Description

The Electronic Warfare (EW) Division of Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to work with a multi-disciplined design team (electrical, mechanical, RF and systems engineers, scientists, etc) and will be involved in the design and development of innovative sensor systems. You will work across multiple groups to perform systems engineering functions such as requirements development, analysis and verification, architecture trade studies and development of design concepts. Candidate will have a strong background in system engineering in support of a fast paced, multi-disciplinary design team.

Under the mentorship of a senior engineer you would:

  • Conduct systems engineering activities such as requirements development, analysis and verification.
  • Generate component-level requirements/specifications based on overarching system or operational requirements.
  • Use Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (including CAMEO) to augment systems engineering activities and develop/maintain systems engineering artifacts
  • Conduct systems engineering milestone reviews coordinating across multi-disciplined technical teams.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplined design team (electrical engineers, systems engineers, software engineers, signal processing engineers and scientists) to implement innovative solutions for system development.
  • Support procurement/proposal activities.
  • Provide technical support to testing activities in the lab or in the field.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope, determining methods and procedures to be used on new assignments, and providing feedback and recommendations to other technical personnel.
  • Interact with outside customers, suppliers, and functional peer groups.
  • Some travel and work at remote sites for limited time periods may be occasionally required.
  • Provide status reports to project managers and/or division production manager as required.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience with Systems Engineering concepts.
  • Experience working in multi-discipline technical teams.
  • Proficiency learning and using technical/engineering tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in general computer skills such as Microsoft office Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • BS in engineering from an accredited college or related degree (Masters degree a plus) and 2+ years of experience
  • Active SECRET clearance (Top Secret a plus)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
