Leidos Digital Modernization team is currently seeking a motivated Systems Administrator with proven experience to join the DISA JSP Platform Services & Core Services team in Norfolk, VA. As the Systems Administrator, you will install, configure, support, and maintain computing systems, including associated hardware. Duties include managing system infrastructures, and implementing system specifications, configuring physical and virtual environments, and ensuring effective backup and recovery processes for IT infrastructure. Additional responsibilities may involve optimizing system performance, managing storage allocation, applying critical patches, and analyzing performance logs to identify and resolve issues.

SHIFT SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 08:30AM - 4:30PM core hours with occasional after hours' onsite work to support both a NIPR and SIPR environment.

This position is 100% onsite at customer site in Norfolk, VA. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active Secret with Top Secret eligibility to start.

What will you do in this role?

  • Support and execute virtual and physical deployments to production such as ESXi Hypervisor, VDI, and other required virtual and physical server infrastructure upgrades, system enhancements, and enterprise LCM evolutions.
  • Create, modify, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/Work Instruction documentation.
  • Support VDI end point device management, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Supports system operating system image builds IAW planned projects and initiatives including preparing, testing, and deployment to production
  • Respond to system faults, analyzing and correcting applications or system faults to reestablish service
  • Successfully manage time and technical responsibilities, set accurate expectations and meet deliverable deadlines while working in an inclusive team collaborative environment.
  • Maintain, update, install required certificates and track certificate revocation dates to ensure continuity of services.
  • Support Storage/SAN solutions to include back-up and recovery evolutions
  • Prepare and implement DoD STIG mitigation cycles and maintain DISA compliant security

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of relevant experience. Experience in lieu of a degree may be accepted.
  • Working knowledge and experience with integrating VMWare ESXi Hypervisor technical implementation of bare metal rack server technology and hardware solutions.
  • Solid understanding of VM Kernel Operating System installation and virtual server on physical blade server implementation.
  • Understanding and working experience with configuring and maintaining GPO
  • Understanding of enterprise, network, systems, operations and support.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills
  • Experience installing, configuring Microsoft Server 2016-2022 operating system
  • Experience with updating/patching computer system deployment using SCCM/MECM
  • Experience with troubleshooting system hardware applications, system services, events, front and back end system settings, configurations, and policies
  • Experience working with system security applications (ACAS) and mitigating vulnerabilities
  • Certifications: DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II or III: (Security+ CE, as well as one of these OS certs VMWare VCP or VCA, or Win Server 2012 or higher, CompTIA Server +, Linux RHEL Cert)
  • Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with VMWare Horizon View
  • Certified MS Azure Administrator Certification
  • Experience using PowerShell CLI scripts
  • Experience using Teradici Management
  • Possess valid VMWare VCP certification

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
