Description
The Space Division at Leidos has an opening for a Structural Instrumentation Test Engineer to work in our Decatur, AL test facility. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the team to perform structural qualification testing on large hardware with up to 4 million pounds of load.
Primary Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for assembly, integration and test activities for space structures, systems, and hardware. The candidate is required to perform test planning, test execution, scheduling, and resource management, with an emphasis on data acquisition system and instrumentation. The candidate will work in an office and test stand environment. Candidate will be required to ascend/descend stairs, work in a non-environmentally controlled test stand, and be able to lift up to fifty pounds.

Basic Qualifications
- Requires Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or closely related field.
- Candidate must have a minimum of 8 years of related experience in the aerospace or structural testing.
- Extensive understanding of instrumentation (strain gauge, load cell, pressure transducers, displacement transducers.
- Extensive understanding of Data Acquisition System (HBM/HBK hardware and Catman Enterprise software preferred).
- Basic knowledge of network and IT administration (IP address setup, user domain control, software debugging and updating).
- Candidate will be required to ascend/descend multiple flights of stairs in the test stand.
- Candidate will be able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to work well with cross-functional teams, design engineers, analysts, manufacturing, project management and customer representatives
- Ability to operate multiple systems at once under high-pressure environment (data system and video systems)
- Experience with MOOG Control systems
- Understand/operate video systems (Avigilon software and hardware preferred)
- Understand/operate high speed video cameras (Phantom preferred)
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills, and ability to work with multiple interfaces
- Experience in launch vehicle hardware and physical integration

Pay Range:
Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
