Description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tier II Technician to help our growing team. This is a unique and rare opportunity to build and transition critical operations to a modern service provider network architecture.

The job duties of the Tier II Network Technician are as follows:

  • The Tier 2 network technician will support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
  • Respond to and resolve incident tickets
  • Draft and implement standard network change requests
  • Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), and coordinate and install new equipment)
  • Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory
  • Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
  • Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Port Security, and Thin Configurations)

Required qualifications include:

  • TS SCI with Poly
  • Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master's and 10 years, bachelor's and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years.
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
  • Working knowledge of basic routing fundamentals
  • Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts
  • Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes
  • Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, Serial cables, Small Form-factor Pluggable (SFP)
  • Knowledge of Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) models
  • Knowledge of Cisco Internetworking Operating System (IOS), Juniper JUNOS, and the Brocade and Foundry Operating System (OS)
  • Familiarity (doesn't need to be a SME) with Layer 3 protocols such as Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP), Hot Standby Router Protocol (HSRP), Multiprotocol label switching (MPLS), Language Server Protocol (LSP), and Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, ServiceNow, and Atlassian Confluence
  • Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
