The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has a continuing requirement for Homeland Enterprise Information Technology Secure Services (HEITS) for the continued operations and maintenance and evolution of the Homeland Secure Data Network (HSDN) and the Classified Local Area Network (C-LAN). The Senior Systems Integration Engineer will support multiple customer engineering initiatives.
As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer you will use your sound engineering knowledge and experience to propose and develop solutions to problems throughout our product development cycle. You will play a key role in bringing components and systems together to meet customer requirements. The successful candidate will possess a strategic mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.

As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you will work closely with the Chief Engineer, Network Architect, Engineering Lead and the functional engineering teams. The selected individual will be responsible for managing and employing SE standard methods, SE processes, tools and artifacts to accomplish requirements analysis, problem diagnosis and solution design, integration and test preparation, risk assessment and mitigation planning, and related activities.
They will be responsible for technical planning, system hardware-software-network design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. Duties include performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance. The Senior Systems Engineer will create meaningful entry/exit criteria for all technical reviews, and advocate for appropriate review artifacts, activities, documentation and stakeholder participation, as well as develop and maintain systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models.
Basic Qualifications
- Must have an active TS/SCI level clearance
- M.S. degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 15-20 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience in lieu of advanced degree will be considered.
- Well-organized, reliable, attention to detail, demonstrated personal initiative. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Good interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate work with others. Good oral and written communication skills.
- Experience integrating systems across diverse environments, including legacy and modern architectures.
- Experience in project scheduling using MS Project.
- Experience in leading and mentoring a small team of system engineers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with supervising technical personnel.
- Experience working with Virtual Machines (Hyper-V; VMWare).
Preferred Qualifications
- Displayed ability in the modeling, design, assembly, integration, and test of complex systems
- Doctorate degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, with 13-16 years of experience.
- Previous experience working with DHS.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $148,850.00 - $269,075.00
