This role will support the Department of Defense (DoD) High Performance Computing (HPC) Modernization Program (DoD HPCMP) and the U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) DoD Supercomputing Resource Center (DSRC) located at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

Summary:
The position maintains operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery to existing HPC systems. Develops and monitors policies and standards related to the use of HPC resources. Participates in technical forums; and representing our company in joint meetings with the customer on HPC technical topics.

Primary Responsibilities:
The selected system administrator will work with a team of engineers to review and define configurations, create automation scripts to deploy and configure network assets, review, and deploy software applications, and provide support for testing, demonstration, and technical interchange meetings to include troubleshooting, patching, hardening, and configuration management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance
  • DoD 8570 IAT II (or better) Certification (i.e. Security+)
  • OS Software Certification (i.e. Linux+) or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
  • Bachelors degree with 4+ years of relevant experience. Additional experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Additional Basic Qualifications: (At least 2 years of experience with the following technology/Skills)

  • Puppet
  • Unix and ability to create/maintain scripts
  • VMware
  • STIG Compliance
  • Kickstart

Preferred Qualifications: (At least 2 years of experience with the following technology/Skills)

  • Ovirt
  • Slurm
  • PBS
  • Zabbix
  • Radix/eMASS (or similar scanning tools)
  • Archival Storage Systems
  • Ansible
  • HPE Amanda Backup Software
  • Network engineering and administration

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
