Leidos has a current opening for a Part Time Splunk Engineer supporting the U.S. Government in a challenging, dynamic setting located in Chantilly, Virginia. The position requires an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph. The Splunk Engineer assists in design, integration and technical refresh efforts working in a highly collaborative environment with teammates, key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the intelligence community. This unique opportunity will allow you to participate on a high-visibility DoD/Intel program that provides IT support, systems integration and life cycle support, application development, network engineering, information systems security (ISS), and 24x7x365 support to mission-focused customer. In this missions we research, design, test, and implement all technologies involved in small data centers to include networking, hardware, software, storage, etc.

Primary Responsibilities

The Splunk Engineer will provide overall engineering, and administration in supporting a distributed clustered Splunk environment consisting of search heads, indexers, deployers, deployment servers, heavy/universal forwarders, and Splunk Enterprise Security premium apps, spanning security, performance, and operational roles. The Engineer should be proficient with recognizing and onboarding new data sources into Splunk, building dashboards, searches, reports, etc. The Splunk engineer should be proficient within a Linux environment, editing and maintaining Splunk configuration files and apps. In addition, the Splunk engineer should be familiar with ansible or other automation tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years' experience in the Information Technology arena.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Additional Cyber Security Certifications and experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • A combination of 4+ Years experience in Linux, Splunk, Ansible, app interface development, using REST APIs, or other Cyber technologies.
  • Ability to follow Change & Configuration Management, utilizing automation tools, such as Git.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Splunk role working in a Splunk clustered environment, with experience in Splunk premium app management (Enterprise Security, ITSI).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with an analytic and qualitative eye for reasoning under pressure.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently prioritize and complete multiple tasks with little to no supervision.
  • Understanding and usage of Regex.
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, Visual Basic or PowerShell.
  • Relevant technical training and experience in lieu of degree considered

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
