Description

Varec, a wholly owned subsidiary of Leidos, Inc., and leader of bulk liquid management solutions, is seeking to hire a Solutions Architect to join our team. This a great opportunity for someone with technical experience to provide response to requests for proposal from customers, software and hardware solutions, systems design and architecture and system deployment. The selected candidate will work with customers, representatives and engineering teams to understand and refine customer requirements, provide designs, help develop quotes and proposals, build representative systems and assist in deployment of automation systems.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional skills in communication, engagement, collaboration, team leadership and is a self-starter requiring minimal supervision and direction. The ideal candidate will have excellent presentation skills, ability to connect with people and create insights from those interactions, motivation and technical and analytical skills, experience with the software, hardware and networking tools required for the position and business acumen in front of team members, customers and executive leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Review and understand business and technical requirements in Requests for Information (RFI), Request for Proposal (RFP), and other customer solicitation documents and requests. Responsible for performing systems requirements analysis, functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition, technical management, integration, system testing, and quality assurance.
  • Provide technical planning leadership for delivering an innovative product, service or a combination of products and services that address a customer's specific business needs via RFI, RFP or other request. This includes developing innovative approaches and solutions, using Varec products, third party tools, industry knowledge, experience and subject matter expertise.
  • Evaluate requirements and conceptualize product and/or service-based solutions that fulfill them, in order to develop total systems to meet business and technical system requirements through the right mix of information technology.
  • Maintain knowledge of, research and utilize technology elements, including Varec software, Varec Hardware, and third-party solutions in the process of designing inventory control, automation and measurement systems.
  • Lead and assist, as needed, with efforts in the design and development of new products, solutions and services.
  • Utilize best practices, technology and industry standard methods to help create solutions
  • Oversee system testing and suggest measures for optimizing functionality or making corrections
  • Transition knowledge and deliver solution for implementation and training to the deployment team.
  • Assist in preparation of quotations and/or technical proposals in response to RFQ/RFPs as needed.
  • Stay abreast of Varec's current and newly developed products and services for the commercial oil & gas industry. Identify how these benefit customers' needs.
  • Stay abreast of developments that may assist in the design and development of solutions for the markets Varec works in.

Basic Qualifications

.

  • Bachelor's Degree with eight plus (8+) years of relevant experience. May consider more years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Strong problem-solving, conceptual, and analytical abilities
  • Experience developing architecture plans for systems
  • Experience with system and network development and deployment
  • Experience with computer servers, workstations, hardware and software, wired and wireless networking and serial communications
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks independently
  • Must currently have a valid U.S Passport or the ability to obtain one for international travel
  • Ability to travel (10%)

Pay Range:

Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
