Description

We have a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Top Secret cleared Software Application Test Engineer. You will be joining an existing team that is successfully delivering for our customers and will employ your talents to continue to solve key problems of international importance.

This next chapter includes rehosting to and verifying the existing application operation on a new hardware platform and development and test of a new React front-end user interface and Java services backend using Agile Scrum methodologies.

Primary Responsibilities

  • You will work with the team to ensure delivery of quality software using Agile Scrum development and test practices.
  • Analyze capability requirements and collaborate with the technical lead and test manager to ensure verifiable implementations.
  • Support identifying the testable acceptance criteria in user stories.
  • Ability to take developer unit tests and create and execute sprint tests at the end of each sprint.
  • Test existing capabilities delivered under maintenance and new React/JS front-end capabilities developed as part of user stories defined in the sprint plan.
  • Support the independent test manager with development and execution of test procedures.
  • Use Xray test management tool or similar product to manage test cases, test sets, test executions and test results
  • Able to develop Xray templates to generate documents for test plans and test reports.
  • Participate in sprint reviews to address testing results.
  • Participate in sprint planning sessions to determine sprint test cases requiring development.
  • Ability to verify bugs have been resolved that were created in previous sprints.
  • Ability to generate test metrics such as test coverage, test results, defects, and other metrics.
  • Learn the NATO application problem domain to contribute to technical discussions.
  • Potentially support installation and user acceptance testing at the users' facility in Belgium.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of related experience. Additional years will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Must possess active and current Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience in test plan development, designing and writing test cases, test execution, analysis of test results, creating and tracking defects, providing input to test reports including metrics.
  • Experience analyzing test cases to determine if the test case is meeting a requirement and tracing the test case to the capability requirements.
  • Ability to determine what regression tests need to be performed based on a new feature/capability being implemented.
  • Understand different test environments.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a quick learner and adaptable to change.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in virtual machine environments.
  • Experience testing web applications.
  • Experience with applications supporting DoD operations
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
  • Knowledge of test management tool Jira plugins such as Xray or Zephyr.
  • Experience with Solaris X86.
  • Prior Top Secret security clearance or one in progress.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
