Leidos Corporate Group has an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Software License Manager to join our CIO Services team. In this role, you will provide IT Asset Management (ITAM) support focuses on asset lifecycle management, perform system catalogue and model management, and ensure regulatory and policy compliance. The goal of ITAM is to minimize risk and maximize Hardware, Software, and Cloud investments. Critical to the success of this role is the analyzes of current technical processes to formulate and develop new and modified business information processing systems within ServiceNow SAMPro. This role will manage a small team to establish and manage valuable software asset management processes, reporting to the ITAM Operations Manager, in the CIO Services organization.

Furthermore, you will establish processes for license allocation, reconciliation, and harvesting, ensuring adherence to technical software licensing terms and conditions, and following compliance policies and regulations. In this role, you will work closely with various departments to monitor, track, and manage software licenses across the organization, using ServiceNow, SCCM, various vendor portals and other technical tools. You will play a critical role in maintaining compliance, mitigating risks, and optimizing software usage, while maximizing Leidos' investment in Software and Cloud technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define controls, processes, and procedures for software asset management practices within ServiceNow SAM Pro module, to ensure software and services are effectively and efficiently managed throughout the enterprise.
  • Lead the software development lifecycle to improve software asset management processes in SAM Pro
  • Coordinate with consuming business and technology teams to ascertain system requirements in SAM Pro
  • Develop and implement processes to monitor software usage and licenses across the organization to ensure compliance with licensing agreements, terms and conditions, and relevant regulations.
  • Identify and assess risks and issues related to software licensing non-compliance; develop strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement processes to collect, analyze, and report on software license consumption information for forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee regular software license audits to verify compliance and identify potential licensing gaps or discrepancies.
  • Analyze software contracts and usage to determine potential efficiencies and cost saving opportunities.
  • Oversee the ServiceNow software catalog request options and workflow; evaluate value-add to find opportunities for improvements.
  • Establish and maintain a process to track software end of support and end of life; work with system lifecycle managers to plan these events.
  • Assist in establishing a process to assess software rationalization for the enterprise and business.
  • Collaborate with various departments to establish controls and processes for software installation.
  • Focus on cost saving efforts, including licensing remediation efforts, license harvesting, and reducing duplicate software in the organization.
  • Participate in merger and acquisition projects by providing SAM requirements and tracking to completion.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of IT Asset Management experience. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • Knowledgeable in ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Costpoint.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with ServiceNow catalogue development.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with ServiceNow SAMPro module.
  • Technical understanding software usage rights, and contractual terms and conditions.
  • Skilled in building queries, reports, and dashboards in ServiceNow, and interpreting such data to inform business decisions.
  • Knowledge of IT asset management best practices, including license remediation, reconciliation, and harvesting.
  • Proficient with process development and improvement, including writing requirements, performing UAT and maintaining systems controls or business rules.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Management experience including setting objectives, managing performance, and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge on the technical aspects of IT contract models, including hosting, subscription, SaaS, concurrent licensing, and enterprise agreements, etc.
  • Possess a technical understanding of the relationship between contracts, IT assets and a configuration management database.
  • US citizenship is required and able to obtain security clearance as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow SAMPro certification.
  • Experience developing, managing, and implementing goals, plans, and technical complex processes.
  • Superior critical thinking and technical problem-solving skills.
  • Technical experience in automated asset management systems.
  • IAITAM Asset Management certification.
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on delivering high quality work.
  • Strong organization, planning, and execution skills
  • Advanced data analysis and reporting skills particularly in Excel, PowerBI, Tableau

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
