Description

Leidos is seeking a Software Developer Intern for our Long Beach, MS office. The qualified candidate will work with our engineering and production teams as we develop and produce cutting-edge solutions to challenging defense-related problems. The intern will work with experienced electrical engineers in a hands-on environment which offers the opportunity to work on real-world problems. You will apply what you have already learned while gaining additional skills and knowledge as you work under the direction (mentoring) of a more senior engineer.

Role Overview: As a Software Development Intern at Leidos' Long Beach, MS location, you will join a dynamic team focused on delivering cutting-edge software solutions. You will work on real-world projects, enhancing your skills in software development, while contributing to meaningful advancements in technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development, testing, and debugging of software applications.
  • Collaborate with team members on designing, coding, and integrating software systems.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Conduct research to recommend improvements in processes and technologies.
  • Support documentation and reporting tasks related to software projects.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields in an accredited college or university.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C++, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with development tools such as Git, IDEs, or testing frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Enthusiastic about learning and adapting to new technologies.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be eligible to obtain a security clearance; US Citizenship is required

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) or containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $46,800.00 - $84,600.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
