The National Security Sector (NSS) has a new and exciting opportunity for a Mid-level Software Developer in our Cyber & Analytics Business Area (CABA). Our talented team is at the forefront in Security Engineering, Computer Network Operations (CNO), Mission Software, Analytical Methods and Modeling, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and Cryptographic Key Management. You will support a cutting-edge Cyber Program, providing IT user support, IT security, IT services, and developer support for mobile device analysis, collection, and exploitation engineering services to the Federal Agency. This Key Personnel opportunity is in anticipation of an upcoming contract award!
What you'll be doing:
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions under the Agile methodology.
- Play a key role in contributing to development efforts, implementing features, and collaborating with Agile teams to deliver high-quality software increments.
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications, modules, and components using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, ensuring adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, collaborating with Agile teams to prioritize development tasks, estimate effort, and provide regular updates on progress.
- Implement assigned user stories and tasks, ensuring alignment with project requirements and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve ambiguities.
- Write clean, maintainable code and conduct unit testing to verify software functionality. Collaborate with QA engineers to ensure adequate test coverage and participate in troubleshooting and debugging activities.
- Document software designs, implementation details, and technical specifications. Maintain documentation up to date to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within Agile development practices. Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance team productivity and software quality.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, programming languages, and development trends. Conduct research and experimentation to explore new tools and techniques that can improve development practices.
- Collaborate with other teams such as UX/UI designers, DevOps engineers, and business analysts to ensure a holistic approach to software development and delivery.
What does Leidos need from me?
- Current Top Secret security clearance, SCI eligibility, and able to pass a Polygraph and an FBI full scope field background investigation.
- Minimum of five years of professional experience in software development roles, with exposure to designing and building software solutions.
- Experience with developing programs in Python.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in Agile environments in roles involving collaboration within Agile teams.
- Experience with development in one or more scripting languages or methodologies (e.g., Go, Bash, JavaScript, etc.); designing working environments and/or programs within Linux-based operating systems (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian, etc.) additional experience with User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) development technologies, especially with JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Angular, or Vue Working knowledge of database query languages and mobile database design (e.g., SQLite).
- Familiarity with issue tracking software, such as Jira, as part of a software development team Experience with the git version control system.
Favorable if you have:
- Relevant certifications such as Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Developer (CSD), or similar certifications demonstrating proficiency in Agile software development practices are beneficial but not required.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, and negotiate with stakeholders and internal teams.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage diverse stakeholders, and drive project execution within scope, budget, and timeline.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
