The Leidos National Security Sector has a current opening for a a Signal Processing Engineer supporting our Space Based Infrared Systems (SBIRS), PSF/SNP program office. The SLMS contract supports the SBIRS Program by performing system sustainment, engineering, and logistics support. As a part of the engineering team, the Signal Processing Engineer will provide communication circuit support for the SBIRS communications architecture. This position will perform circuit audits, troubleshooting circuit performance issues, and work with circuit stakeholders to negotiate and implement solutions. The position will work with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) personnel and service portals to support existing and stand-up new communication circuits.

Responsibilities Include:
In this role you will collect and analyze circuit data for failure trend analysis and hardware usage. Work with circuit support team and data owners to identify upcoming circuit need issues and develop mitigation plans. Work with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) personnel, Space Command's Digital Information Network (SDIN) Network Management Cell (NMC) to stand up new communications circuits.
Develop and submit new circuit orders, In-effect Reports (IER), Delayed Service Reports (DSR) for all new communications circuits. Develop and submit circuit orders using DISA's StoreFront ordering portal. Develop communications reports using DISA's Telecommunication Certification Office Support System (TCOSS) portal. Develop and submit Approval-to-Connect (ATC) requests using DISA's System Network Approval Portal (SNAP). Serve as a liaison between DISA and data owners to resolve communication circuit issues. Serve as the SBIRS focal point between DISA and data owners supporting the Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) Elimination efforts.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Bachelors Degree in a related disciple and a minimum of four years relevant experience. Additional years of related experience, training, and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of education requirement.
- Working knowledge of serial communications circuits to include Optical Transport Networks (OTN), Multi Service Provisioning Platform, Juniper routers and circuit-to-packet network (CTP) appliances and type 1 HAIPE devices.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills with peers, senior company personnel, and military personnel/leadership.
- Technical writing and reporting skills.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Masters with two or more years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes and cyber artifacts needed for circuit activation.
- Familiarity with data encryption, fiber optics and legacy data processing systems.
- Familiarity with the government form 1067 system modification process.
Clearance Required:
- US Citizen; Currently possess an active DoD Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret Special Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
